Great job Roger. I agree with Rocky 100% about being the trailblazer.

And Rocky, you would know about being a trailblazer. You were the first on here to take the leap of faith with Amp'd Emblems®.

I seen this mod done so many times its not original anymore. An personally it belongs on an Audi. I feel like it almost in some strange way cheapens the look of our car...

I agree, but the LED DRL unit isn't cheap and Roger has done it the right way.
Those $5 led strips, on the other hand, DO cheapen the look on the car since everyone and their mom has it, especially in awkward locations of the front bumper.

bforbrian- Whats the status on your setup? I haven't been on the forum much lately so I would have missed it if you posted anything.

I need my type-s front a-spec kit modified by a body shop to create a huge gaping hole (removing the horizontal and vertical plastic pieces), and then the shop needs to make some modifications to the lower bumper opening to remove the horizontal bar separating the fog lights from the rest of the grill opening.

I have the LED module soldered up to go.

here are a few shots of the modified DRL setup making it a bit cleaner. There are also other major changes inside of the unit itself so stay tuned!

Just a small update! I tinted the strip so it bends in nicely and flows better. ALso I completely gutted the unit and installed High power amber LEDs next to each white LED and designed my own switchback circuit to control them.

I also made it so if I ever wanted the opposite white LED running light of the side signaling to stay on I can just cut a jumper wire. For now I like how it turns them both off I always though it looked like one side was burned out when I see Audi's signals with just one side lit.

You talking about the corner bulbs in the headlights right? I'm using Elef Amber bulbs. One of the only companies that actually makes a good quality pnp LED using high quality brand name LEDs.

damn, thats so dope! i love it! best led mod ive seen. i dont think it cheapens the look of the car. the way you did it looks awesome. looks stock, like it came that way from the factory. the integrated amber turn signals are amazing. DRL's plus way more. i think im a little bit jealous.

i applaud your led expertise, great job!!!

That is so bad ass. You have succeeded imitating the Audi DRL shut-off upon turn signal engagement system; I LOVE IT.

May I suggest autolumination's 120SMT 1157 LED bulb? They are brighter than the ones you have; no, they are ridiculously bright, even in the sunlight.

Thanks Everyone! Lots of R&D went into this one I didn't want to rush it and have any failures the last thing I want to do is open that unit up again.

Thanks Brian! Way back when I started buying my first LEDs for my last car (9-10 years) I bought them from autolumination and every single one of them failed and started flickering after a year. Sense then I've become sort of an LED snob there and stay clear of any PNP LED product from any of these distributors (autoillumination, VLEDS, etc). Actually these Elef corner bulbs are the only LEDs i've purchased that are PNP and thats only because they are using a Osram branded amber LED and highly reliable.

All those 1/2W SMD LEDs on those towers are made in china or taiwan & probably being overdriven destined to failure. Trust me at times I would love be able to just purchase a set of bulbs it would be much easier I just cant bring myself to it.

How long have you been using yours?

That's because Roger worked it out big time on one of the best Legend sedans ever to grace Acura-legend.com and acuralegend.org!! Props from a long time fan with a "new" 2008 NBP auto. Keep it up man!

Dude... that is awesome. Did you consider this option:

When the lower running lights are on "white" mode and you signal left, have the left one switch to flashing yellow, and the right switch to solid yellow rather than full off?

I think you did a really good job on the execution of this, and the install is clean, but I just don't think they flow with the front of the car when they're on in my opinion.

Like I said though.... A+ for execution

I hadn't been a fan of the LED's because like somebody else said about it being done so many times it wasn't original anymore. I think that opinion however was due to the fact it had been just thrown on the car and either looked half way good or just horrible.

I think these were done very very very well. To the point that a non car enthusiast would think they come on that car stock where as with any other attempts it's blatantly obvious that it was added after the fact. Great job Roger

That looks awesome and I don't think it looks too busy because it meshes perfectly with the bumper. What kind of fog lights do you have in your bumper, are they oem or did you install them youself?

What a beautiful mod. I've seen LED's like this on some cars and it normally doesn't fit real well and looks cheap. What you've done though is amazing. Very jealous, I may have to try this.
