I live in the bay area but I work in Fresno throughout the work week. Whenever I take my TL to Fresno, I get bug splat all over the front of my car, especially once I get on Highway 99. It kinda sucks having to wash it almost every weekend when I get back to the bay area but I can't resist not driving it! What do you use to wash and wax your car? I really like the shine. Do you use a claybar as well?

Did you drive through the Valley of Fire? I hear that is quite an awesome drive. I always wanted to do that trip when I was out in Cali for business, but could never find the time.

For now I've just used a Meguiar's set of products. I don't recall what they are, but it's like a 3 step package kinda thing. I'm looking to pick up a claybar, though, and from what I've read, I want to get Klasse's All in One and some carnuba wax.

Crashish,

I just used Mother's Claybar and Meguiars NXT paste wax on my Pearl White RX300. I can't believe the gloss the NXT wax gives....the paint still looks wet and that's on a white car. Can you imagine it on a dark one like your blue??

That looks beautiful. What time of day did you take the pictures? I never get that kind of shine captured in photos taking the pictures in mid-day.

A very looong road trip (as I mentioned above).

To be honest, the coverage was even worse, but my girlfriend washed the windshield for me while I was in the bathroom during a gas-stop. I came out and I told her "Nooo! What have you done?! I was hoping to take a picture with ALL the bugs"... So, that picture really only shows about half of the insect carnage.

I don't recall what time exactly, but it was just about dusk... Somewhere around 6:30-7ish. The picture with the bugs was late afternoon after my nephew's baseball practice.

Not sure where exactly the "Valley of Fire" is, but whatever route the Navi took me on (from NV to Sacramento) there was a fairly long stretch of highway that was incorrectly mapped. There was no reason to worry about it though, as there was no other paved surface for many miles in any direction.

If you do make it out there, be sure to get some pictures of whatever insect carnage you wreak.

Nope, I live in South Orange County (949)... I probably could've gotten a better deal elsewherer, but the deal they gave me was still quite good and I was just so excited to pick it up.

ya, the NXT tech wax is unbelievable. I used it on my NBP yesterday with a little Scracth X before hand, and it looks like a new car, except for the paint falling off my front bumper. definately the best wet look i have achieved to date.
