2007 ABS Type-S Pictures
#4
I, like most, was not a fan of the Type-S wheels. But after a week with the car, it's been growing on me. I think the wheels only look good on certain color cars, such as silver and white. I don't think the wheels look good on darker color cars, such as black and carbon grey. However, if the wheels were six-spoked, I think they'd look great on all color cars.

I think the lighting has a lot to do with it............sunlight pics make the wheel color look so much better than the darker pics of the same wheel.

Hey, what type of tint did you get and what % did you go with?
I'm debating between 35/25 or go a bit darker 25/15 (front/rear).
Btw, whats next up on the list of mods?

The dealer put the tint on and wouldn't let me have any input on what percentage to get. The shop they contract out to does all the new cars one way. I believe that what I got was the legal limit in TX, which is 35%. It's really not as dark as the pictures look. At night time in a Kroger's parking lot, I can see all the way through both front door windows clearly.
I don't plan on modding this car anymore. I like to keep this one stock, so I don't lose money when I trade it in later.
I really like the rear A-spec kit, but don't like the overly large front. I'd have to see it in person to decide. Got anymore pics of the A-spec front lip?
What brand of suspension and how much did it drop the car by?

Yeah. I agree. I've had the WDP for a about 3 weeks and the wheels are definetly growing on me. They are more blue-grey than dark grey and until you see 'em in person pics don't really show the color.
The spoke pattern is odd. Sometimes it looks disconnected or unorganized at other angles, it looks organized. Something simpler might have worked out better.

Oh and the brand of tint that the contractor for the dealership used is called Charcoal. Good thing about it being a dealer installed option is that it comes with the 4 yr manufacturer's warranty against peels and bubbles (not scratches though).

Can't go wrong with the Silver!! The rims have been growing on me as well. I saw them last week on a WDP, they looked good. But I think I would still change them, Acura should have put 18's on the Type-S.

I got my tinting done for free as part of my deal negotiations. Actually, I think everybody who purchases a car from the dealership should always get free tint, wheel locks, and the trunk mat...otherwise, tell them no sale. They'll be more than happy to fulfill most of your accessories request if it nets them a sale of a car. (I also got 2 yrs of oil changes for free too, ).

To be honest, I think these wheels look the best on an Anthracite.

Like I said before, my car was tinted for free by the dealership (who contracts the job out to this local stereo/tint shop). I do believe that I got the legal limit in my state, which is 35% light transmittance. I had no say in what type of tinting to get. But you want to avoid having to pay for stupid tickets for violating tinting laws, just go with the darkest legal limit for your state.
As for after-market tinting, I would never pay over $180 for a job on a sedan/coupe.
