2006 Acura TL Nighthawk Black Pearl w/ Ebony Interior NAVI

I know people have been asking for pics of the 06 TL, so here are a few... just detailed, no interior shots today, take a look at the wheels and you will see the cut in them by the valve stem for the TPMS...... just a little dust from the windy day we are having...

The HP rating in the '06 TL includes the power steering pump. Before, this accessory was not measured as part of the HP ratings. Now it is. The HP has not changed. Acura didn't do anything to the engine, it's just a new rating system for HP.

Well in NY the ONLY window u can really tint is the rear window and there is no limit. The other 4 side windows can not be any darker than 75% (that comes standard on our cars). From my experience if a cop can not see inside the car he will most likely pull you over. You can't see in the car if the tint it 20% or darker. In honest opinion I regret getting 20% tint on my car and will be replacing it with 35% tint because dark tint on a black car really draws a lot of attention. BTW sorry for going off-topic. Hope this helps you out broken_tweety. Oh yea I know that 75% tint on the sides are legal because I asked my friends dad who is a cop.

Congrats on your new ride! Don't mean to spoil it for you, but some of the visual issues with the TL that I have and have seen in others...
well you have it too

The gap between the hood and the grill on left side vs right side is unequal. The gap on the passenger side (between headlights and grill)
appears bigger than on the drivers side. This can be adjusted, but on my TL it did not work.

Look at the lack of symmetry of the exhaust tips. Left tip appears to be welded on slightly counter clockwise.
Not sure what can be done with this. I will bring this up with Acura on my first service.

Search the forum for other issues. Hopefully you don't have any more.

this is seeming very picky.. i am very anal myself, but never noticed those problems.. i guess if i really stare at it i can see but, who else would besides you(no offense), the only i could really complain about, if i was, would be the left exhaust tip. you can't tell though... happy with the car myself..

thanks, for your opinion though

Your right. Your car looks sweet man and good choice on the tint I remember yo wanting to kno how dark to tint your car. Sorry I couldn't get any pics up because of all the rain we were getting here in New York. I'm going to change my 20% tint to 35% on the side just like you but I do have to ask is it really that light under normal driving conditions or is it because you were in a really bright place? Thanks.

Tint in Chicago?

Anyone know what the tint rules are in Chicago? My old Prelude had 20% on the rear window and 1/4 panels and I think 35% on the front. I owned the car for 7 years and only received one ticket for it.

I want to get it done on my new TL but I don't what to be hassled by the cops. Any suggestions for percentages and what types of film to look for?

from what the law says for Illinios, you are allowed however dark you want it on the rear window and back two doors and none on the front two door windows, same as NJ

I get some in mine, I dont have much to compare it to though. Havent had a chance to push an 04 or an 05 to try to relate.
