2 Tone Luxury Sedans- IS300/TL

Went to Battle of the Imports in Rockingham this past weekend. The show series is sponsored by A-Spec, so i thought i'd go represent! Had a pretty good time talking with people and seeing some friends. Took a few pictures of my buddies IS300. I love what hes done to it...check it out.

Also.. My buddy had the HKS Carbon Ti exhaust on his car before he went with a custom 4 inch piping strait pipe. So i opted to buy his and he let me have for a few bucks!

So now I have the larger version muffler AND some mandrel bend piping. That means i can get rid of the small muffler and test out the new one.

Here are the pictures...

IS300 HKS Carbon Ti Exhaust

Current custom setup.

Size comparison.

haha most of the items on my TL can't be found on the vendors list.

Tein Hood dampers= 94-01 Integra
APR Mirrors= 94-01 Integra
Greddy Strut Bar= 03+ Accord
etc.

Discovering parts that work is the funnest part in modding the TL.

You're not colorblind my friend! its grey...matches the Volk GT-7 spokes.

That Lexus is also making a little over 500whp!

Well it might have more than i think...i tend to under estimate wheel horsepower. Also...I don't have the high flow cats.

I tend to agree with you....I think there are some that overestimate....i you read...they even question the validity of the HP# they get. Its not what you can get a dyno to max out at ONE TIME (that can be a fluke)....but what does it consistently do day in and day out.

Thanks for the info on the bonnet damper (lol)....(very english sounding isnt it). I have been looking into them myself...but may not...thinking about going carbon fiber on the hood....and those prob wont work there.

Sorry, man, couldn't resist...you know I love that car! By the way, a shutterbug buddy of mine has some new kick @$$ camera and he's looking for excuses to take pics...if you want to have a nice photoshoot of your car sometime, let me know. He's currently selling off pics from his last dive trip...I told him he needs some good pics of cars, not fish.

Yep...haven't been on in almost 2 weeks...it's been crazy around here lately...finally slowed down a bit, but it's going to hit the fan just after the 4th. I don't get it, don't they know I can't surf AZ if they give me all that work to do?!?!

I'm not a camera geek, so I don't know anything about it other than it takes pictures, but it definitely wasn't cheap. He's got some serious gear for underwater pictures, too (waterproof case specifically for his camera, some kind of lights that mount to the case, etc.)...pics look like National Geographic pics. Next time I talk to him, I'll see when he's got some time (he works more than anyone I know).

It looks even better in person... he just installed some D2 coilovers. Said he was going to lower it even more.

You should hear the 500 hp...it sounds like an F16 taking off...its awesome.

I'm sure someone will turbo a 3rd gen somewhere down the line.

Damn 4" straight pipe... no wonder why his piping looks huge !!! The IS is a great car to modify because of the 1jz motor, is he running the Altezza tranny too? or the 5spd?
