1940 Indian Chief Restored!!!
A good buddy of mine (CRAZY GUY) took this pile of junk home 3 years ago, and painstakingly, lovingly turned it into a machine that's one of less than a handful on earth that still runs. He's heading to a judged show in Davenport, Iowa this weekend. Last time he entered it, he was awarded 97 of 100 points for accuracy of reproduction, and quality of workmanship. Since then, he fixed all the things he got the 3-point reductions for, and he's hoping to get 100 this time.
I know this is WAY off topic, but as a bunch of gearheads, I figured you guys would appreciate what he's done.
This is what it looked like when he bought it....
And today, as it was strapped in his van before the trip to the show....
And yeah, it runs...He's put a grand total of 12 miles on it since finishing it!
It took him somewhere around 15,000 hours to rebuild it, not including months of hunting parts at scrap shows.
By the way, this is his third Indian restoration. He has a 46 Chief and and a 47 Chief Police Cruiser (4-Cylinder). His collection is valued at over a million bucks.

That is VERY impressive! Please pass on the admiration of the A-Zine community to your friend. I definitely hope he gets his three points...looks like he's put a lot of TLC into that bike.
BTW, next time - take a picture of the Indian next your TL to avoid the inevitable lock from the mods!

Wow. Very, very nice. It's great to see that sort of dedication and attention to detail.
On a side note.... What is it parked in? Chevy Suburban? I'd get a nice trailer. It must be fun getting it in the rig.

I have a neighbor that is doing that to 2 early hendersons. has a straight 4 banger in it. he is such a perfectionist I feel sorry for his wife! he also has hauled his bike in a van!
he did a mid 60s sportster and it was perfect, he didnt like something and redid the whole thing! would drive me nuts.
