18" wheels

Hey everyone. It's my first post here, going to be picking up a TL very soon. If anybody who has 18's on their TL comes through this thread, could you please post up a pic and the info for your wheels??

I would want 19's, but being a college student, mod money will be tight. I am trying to get a feel of which type of 18's look best on the TL.

Thanks!

Really, that sounds very intriguing. Are you looking to upgrade? Does the tpms work with them?

If you are gonna go with 18s i would get aspec rims, because you know they will fit and those are acurazine approve. Cant go wrong with them!

aspecs are nice but IMO i think they look a little too stock. unless thats the look your going for then go for it. i prefer a little more custom which is why i skipped acura styled rims all together! =)
i must say though, ronjon puts out some mean sets of shoes.

18" raven black machined ronjon legends. After a lot of research, I went with those and have loved having them on the car every minute. Need to find a pic though...lol.

They remind me of these wheels. And that's not a bad thing at all.

I don't see why they wouldn't, and yeah I'm looking to upgrade.

I like the look of the 18" A-Spec rims. To me OEM just looks cleaner.

You can probably pick up a set pretty cheap in the black market.

That C63 AMG is money. Sick ass car for not a whole lot of money when you think about it. I like the aspecs too...especially if you can find a set of 18x8.5 gunmetals (really rare now btw).

But yeah, I love the ronjons. I was waiting for them to make the legends in raven black 18"...when they finally did, I jumped all over that. Plus the +32 offset is sweet IMO. Brings the wheels out just enough to widen the stance and look good. Now for the M/T aspec drop at some point in the future...

HP Racing gunmetal 18's:

(I hate the way this last pic looks since the tires don't have armor all on)

Yea I know the HD lip looks terrible, it's just temporary lol.

I really enjoy the rims, I think 18's look great if the offset looks flush, if they have a bit more of a lip like mine then I think 19's would be better, so some day I may sell mine and upgrade to 19's.

Those HPs are heavy and crack easily. Most people don't care about that though.

Crack easily, never heard that from anyone besides you. I've had them on my car for over a year and a half with no issues and the HP Evo's on the RX8 are 5 years old and still have no issues. And 19lbs each isn't super heavy, but as you said most people don't race these cars so wheel weight isn't a major issue.

My 19" HP Evos were 26 lbs. each. They held up fine (dents, some rash) for a year until I had a bad wreck and had to replace all of them. The insurance company bought 4 new ones, and the two rears were cracked when I bought new tires 2 months later.

If those Evos are 19 lbs., they should cost a lot more than they do, and I would gladly rock them again.

These are 350z wheels on my tl

18 x 8 Front - 225/45/18
18 x 8.5 Rear - 245/45/18

18's work fine for me. Id also like to go 19" but unfortunately, streets in PR are too bad for 19's.

Gool Luck

Agreed. The problem I see the most is people look at the wheels and say, "hey. that kicks ass" without any regard to how they look on the car. For some reason, most stock wheels succeed in their design to bring out the appeal of the vehicle. I rarely see any aftermarket wheel that will look better than stock... on the car.

But I hesitate to spend $2,400 on a set of wheels where I could have upgraded to the V6 and essentially received a set of wheels free. So I think I'm gonna hold out for a hot minute. If I find a set of A-Specs for say $1,500 I'll take 'em but until then...
