Koni shocks w/ aftermarket springs (comptech springs, tein springs, etc.) these will all run you different prices. I'd say from 400-800 i guess.
You can also go w/ Tein Basics which offer a height adjustment, but no damper adjustment. This means you can lower or higher the car as you wish, but the ride will be set w/ regards to how stiff it is (some people see it as a bumpier ride). I've seen prices run from about 700 - 850
I went with Tein SS, which like the Basics, offer height adjustment as well as damper adjustment. The damper adjustment allows you to choose how stiff you want the ride to be. It can be set on soft, which would make for a smoother (but still harsher than stock) ride, or stiff, which would basically allow you to feel every bump, chip or ding in the road (some people like feeling the road more). I've seen prices run from 800 - 1000.
Btw, these prices are for brand new items, not for used. I'm sure if you get used items, they'll be cheaper.
oh, and w/ regards to the 4X4 comment. If you look at a 4X4, the space b/w the tire and the bottom of the fender is pretty big. Hence, the 4X4 look. Some people stick w/ the stock suspension b/c of many reasons (i.e. no funds, want to keep the smooth ride of stock suspension, etc). Others, however, feel that it makes the car not look as good as it could, as well as handle as well as it could.
Anyways, you have plenty of options when it comes to lowering the car. Take a look around the forum. There are a few pics around here w/ different suspension options. good luck!
