I figured we non-Type S-ers....that did this kinda work would get some crap from you real Type-S-ers.

Like the post said above...finding a manual type-s is damn near impossible given it's rarity.

Dude, we're all in this together.

Actually, I fell into my Type S. I was going for a Base TL originally. So it's all good.

That's what I always say to the people doing the type s mods. Not to mention headlights, brakes, suspension, leather seats, interior dash, exhaust, sway bar is slightly different & others I can't remember now lol

I know there are threads all over this site about differences between the S and base model, and some people say its not much or the Type S isnt worth it, but in reality there is a LOT that makes a Type S differ from the base model, and even more so going from Type S to the earlier 04-06 cars. I mean just think about the exterior. Literally the only parts that arent different is the actual sheet metal. And that doesnt even include the different interior. I will admit its not like the Type S is a completely different beast as far as performance goes, so that would have been kind of cool if Acura made the Type S significantly faster than the base model. Either way they are all cool cars I love all TL's.
Well put!

Considering the easy changes he has made, even though a front bumper is not that easy with paint and all, I'm surprised it looks as good as it does! I think it looks excellent. If they only made a TLS in parchment or light tan interior than I would like the the TLS interior better. I do like the red lights though. I'm in the process of changing that.

Are those DEPO tail lights or OEM or another? I might order some too! haha

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I feel like TL-S conversions are just a waste of time and money. So much effort to get the car to look like another car that comes exactly the same stock. Except you're left with a less powerful engine. All the power to you OP and MHM because it's clearly something you wanna do, but that money could have gone to the aspec kit and bigger aftermarket rims. OR you could have just sold your base and bought a type-s. But that's just my opinion which obviously won't mean anything

In my opinion, if you already have a base tl, trading for a type-s is not worth it .. it depends on the price. And most dealers will get you pretty hard on the wholesale end of things. Plus, if you already have navi and a few key features, then it will be easier. Plus, i already changed the timing belt and most these used cars dont have that done, odds are i would have to do it again! When i bought the TL i didnt even know there was a difference between at least the 05 base and the 07 base. A closer examination reveales a lot more changes in the electronics and rear camera and stuff. But visully i didnt even know there was a difference in the front bumpers until i started searching it out. So in my opinion, theres not a ton of difference especially if you are like all the other millions out there that do not have a TL. I think we as people tend to over scrutinize our cars because we own them. We know every little change that Acura made between the years because we own them. But to the average buyer, they won't know the difference. But yes, if i had known the differences between the 08 and the 05, and that i was going to be gainfully employed for the next 4 yrs, like i was 4 yrs ago, then i would have sought out a more expensive car. But at this point its not worth trading a base TL for type-s. If i do any trading, IM GETTN OUT OF THE TL altogether!!! Just my position. I paid 8,000 less for this 05 about 4 yrs ago, than what what the 07/08 was going for. But again.. at this point, it would not be worth trading for a type-s that has an average of 80k miles, when my 05 now has 70k. Plus i know what has been done to my car. But IF i was a new comer, then i would look at the type-s. At a minimum i would be looking at the 07/08 base TL. But its getting late now.

By the way, 3.2 vs 3.5. How much difference are we talking? Its still a sedan. And i dont race my car anyway so i would seldom need that .3 difference. Haha

1 more thing. Any type-s parts I buy, i can resell for at least half of what i paid for them. Someone on acurazine or ebay will buy them if you offer the right deal, so its not a total waste to modify and update if you keep your base parts and go through a small demod process before selling. I mean you pull your subwoofer out and stuff right?

Some of the type-s's are not in great condition too. So, it might be best to weigh your opinions carefully.

With all that said, i just ordered these. 900 shipped, no tax direct from their website. But here is the pic.
Amazon.com: Acura Tl 2007-2008 Type-s Wheel Genuine Factory OEM (THIS IS FOR COMPLETE SET OF 4 WHEELS)!!! Center caps not included!!!!: Automotive Amazon.com: Acura Tl 2007-2008 Type-s Wheel Genuine Factory OEM (THIS IS FOR COMPLETE SET OF 4 WHEELS)!!! Center caps not included!!!!: Automotive

These are brighter than what came on many TL-s's. They improved the color in my opinion. Odds are you wont get this color on type-s's. The originals are dingy, dirty, darker.

Ya i noticed that too. But we knw better. But i can tell u probably what happened. Doing my job where i create documents and send it out for implementation, i often recycle a doc i used on another project. So they probably copied another one of their ads and changed it for type-s wheels but they missed a few hidden items. Or missed a few changes. In other wordsd, that is left over from another post. It happens. Human error. Recycling the same formatted post for a new post.
