Back from the dead. I uploaded a video of the supercharger whine on photobucket, but waiting for the program to allow me the share the video. I took these two pictures yesterday before heading to the gym. Wifey was running late from work, so she just met me at the gym. As we were leaving I took a quick photo of our cars together (rarely happens).

Her Optima looks amazing with those wheels and drop. If only the wife would let me mod her 2010 TSX. Lol. Love your TL man. OMG so clean. Hows it feel having that supercharger? Did you notice any increase in MPG at all?(seen a couple of people say they actually got some better fuel economy after the install. If they're not gunning it everywhere. Lol).

As J said, I redid the entire interior. If you go back 2 or 3 pages you will see the project being doing. I did a quick DIY for anyone else interested. The kit was from Leatherseats.com (100% full leather kit in two tone).

Thank you for the kind words! You souped up the wifey. I have a build thread on the Optima on this forum. Search my "Threads made". Did a lot of tasteful modifications. I'm done with the Optima, I haven't messed with it for a very long time. Only keep it looking fresh and doing maintenance when needed. Yes and no on the fuel economy. Being that i'm a 6MT, my fuel economy is great. As long as I drive normal and use cruise control, I average higher than stock MPG numbers. Supercharger is great! The whine is just down right sexy to hear all the time. Definitely catches a lot of attention because most don't suspect the TL to be boosted.

So photobucket keeps rejecting my upload. I logged into my ancient Youtube account and uploaded the video. I do apologize for the side ways view. Still working on correcting the video.

Topic derail: YouTube has a basic video editor function, and one of the abilities is to rotate the video. So you should be able to do that all within your account there. I always struggle to remember how to actually get to my videos, bit once there, it's actually a pretty slick interface to do basic clipping/splicing/titles etc.

Thank you!!! I went into the settings and figured it out. It will take a few mins to complete the edit. I'll check back later to see if it did the edit.

Thank you for the kind words! I had ordered this kit 2004-2008 Acura TL Vehicle Specific 168-LED Interior Light Package. I'm sure there are better and brighter LED's out now.

Had a little bit of time to work on the TL. Put the A-spec wheels back on for the winter season (funny, tomorrow it's going to snow maybe up to 5 inches..) and I decided to wax and sealer wax the TL for the season. It will be stored away for most of the winter, but I rather be safe than sorry. I snapped a few cell phone shots, so the quality is as good as it gets.

By far my favorite TL out there... Gus knows how to do it right. I don't even want to know how much time and money he's dumped into that beast.

Yeah, because all the numbers wouldn't fit on one piece of paper

But seriously, it's nice to see a vintage TL, with high quality parts from front to back, and from what I can tell, no corners cut. I can think of certain members posting cars and showing how nice they are... but they purposely either don't mention or try to hide issues by taking different angle shots, etc. This thing appears to have any issue covered, as it comes up. Worn leather? Fuck it. Replace with even better leather, even though it's a premium price. Awwww shiiiet

I would pay good money to find a mint 6MT TL again. I keep wanting to replace mine, but keep realizing that it is pretty nice to drive and even though there are faster cars out there, like the Golf R I recently piloted, they don't feel like "OMG this is sooo much faster than what I already have!! Take my 50k CDN right now!!" It's just the wanting of a new car that is on my mind.

I'd fly down to jersey to buy your car and drive it back home. Too bad I know she will never be for sale

That's very true man! Back when I bought the TL ( 11 years ago) everyone was rocking WORK or Volks wheels. Everything done to these TL's, were done right. Due to the fact the TL has depreciated to the point it's obtainable by nearly anyone, the quality of parts and care that go into the them, is just about gone. There are still plenty of enthusiast that continue to push the envelope and do some fantastic modifications without cutting corners. This goes with any vehicle that was once worth a decent amount and is currently worth next to nothing. This TL is more than a vehicle to me, it really is my "classic" car in today's world. I recently took the TL out for a spin and had this lady approached the TL to take a closer look. I was at a starbucks hanging out with the wifey, so I had my eye on the TL. She walked up to our table and asked me if the TL was my car. I said yes it is. She said her son (17 or 18) was obsessed with that generation TL and wanted a pearl white one with navigation and a 6MT. The lady told me, every single one she looked at was an automatic and beat to shit. She proceeded with are you willing to sell the car and for how much. My wife was laughing and said he won't sell the TL even if you offered him 100K. I said to the lady, "it's not a stock vehicle and has options that are hard to find, beside being super clean and well maintained" She said they go for like 5-10K so how much more can yours really be?! I looked at her and said regardless what I think my TL is worth, it's not for sale. Funny as it all happened, when the lady walked away the guy sitting next to us said he works for an insurance company and that I should look into something called an Agree Value Auto Insurance. I looked into it, but it seems to be more for Classics and the value with the work done has to meet a certain $$$ point.

Regardless, I have to look into it more and see how it works. If you ever want to come to NJ, i'll be more than glad to show you the TL and you would have a place to stay while you visit!

Blast from the past!!!!!!!!! How's it going man?! WOW, very long time. I sold you that A-spec front lip around 7 years ago. I remember it had a scuff on the bottom which drove me crazy, enough to buy a new one which is why I sold the old lip. Thank you for the kind words, you already know, a lot of dedication and attention to detail over the years. I was trying to catch up with everyone else in Tri-State VIP (Rodney and the rest of the crew). I think now I would be able to roll with them... How's everything man? You still in the city?

Thank you man! It's normal to get approached while im out and about. There's a lot of TL guys in my area and car guys in general. Last month at the same Starbucks, a guy asked me if my wheels are real works. He was trying to find 19 x 11 with like a 5 offset. I was like "what kind of car you plan on putting these on without modifications?" he said his BMW M4. He mentioned he owned a blue Type-s before getting the BMW and was shocked my TL was a 2004 and not a type-s.

7 years owning and tinkering it, I was bored...I convinced myself I needed more...
ended up in a type S 3G...which had issues...and then after that I couldn't bring myself to get the SAME car once again. Should have stuck with it...jack of all trades and paid off.

Amazing car!! I just went through the whole thread. Your car and the wife’s car look amazing. The detailing, the classy way everything was put together. Supercharger!!! I like the part about someone trying to tell you what your car’s value is. You know the work and time you put in, no one could ever buy that lol.

Tyler! It's been a tough year and thank god it's almost over. Starting on a good foot for 2018. Congratulations again!!! I'm beyond excited for you and M! I hope your son is a car nut like us, just a tad bit though. We wanted to go to Myrtle beach this year, but due to work, we couldn't go. We are leaving for Aruba on the 27th (Wifey surprised me with tickets on my birthday). Next time we plan on coming down, we are passing by with gifts!

I keep in touch with Rodney here and there. He was telling me to join another group. Honestly, as i'm getting older, I don't have a lot of time for shows. Congrats on moving to Rahway!

Hey buddy! Thank you very much for the super kind words! I'm glad you took the time to go through the entire thread. I really appreciate it! That's very true, nobody can put a price on my TL. I know what the book value is and I also know what it's worth to me. It's not worth selling, nobody will give me what I want and I will really regret it. I have a hard time when people ask me, if something happens to the TL or you sell it, what would you get? I honestly don't know. I have vehicles I love to own, but it doesn't have the special spot for me. I guess it happens when you own the same vehicle for over 10+ years. You go through things and have these memories that are golden.
