XLR8 J-PIPE 04 6spd Dyno

Just got my dyno for my 04 TL 6Spd, from BB, the baseline numbers are from a TL AUTO, so not an exact compare, but even so I was still impressed.

HP 16.39
TQ 20.58

I would guess these numbers are off by no more than 5 for either one, with that said I am still amazed by the gains just from the j-pipe.

When I get XLR8 exhaust and Intake I will do dyon's for each and post. Stay tuned.....

It would have been nice to use the same car... duhhhhhh

But yeah its basically impossible to make those numbers off only a Jpipe..
The numbers dont really say much when its two different cars/trannys/days/conditions/etc..

there was nothing I could do BB's Dyno went down when they installed the j-pipe but the conditions were the same for the auto and pretty consistent with what I have seen for AUTO's and Manual DYNO's I have seen are in the 5 HP range.

Plus the TYPE S baseline and J-PIPE mod are also consistant with the gains seen here, from the dyno numbers at BB for Type S stock and Type S J-Pipe, with similar climate conditions. So I feel safe knowing I got at least 12 HP and 15TQ minimumally.

Glad you were able to get the dyno in. How does she feel with the j-pipe? What does the butt dyno say?

Now that she's all broken in its great like I said before the power is much more linear, and even BB said they were shocked with the gains just from the j-pipe they have only seen one other car make gains like that with a simple bolt-on. So I am really impressed, i will go back and re-dyno when I get teh exhaust and then dyno again with intake so i can get the gains from each step.

Now sure what you mean by the "Butt Dyno"

Nice.

Butt dyno means how much power you feel in your butt, meaning while you're sitting/driving in your seat does it feel like you made more power and you said it did.

Wish I had 'em, BB dyno went down when the built the j-pipe and fitted it on my car. All that I could compare against was a Auto, so I had to do some fuzzy calculation based on 6spd numbers and Auto numbers I have seen independent of this.

What I can tell is that the number in gain is consistent with what I see between a stock Type-S and a Type-S with a j-pipe.

I see the range of 12-16TQ and 7-12 HP. So a 4-5 differential.

the stock Auto run was 209HP and 186TQ, I ran a 225HP and 207TQ w/ j-pipe.

Hey guys. I've got a question concerning the XLR8 j-pipe. I just installed it yesterday on my '05 TL and have been getting more vibrations than usual in the cabin. The motor seems to be idling a little lower now that the j-pipe is on. This normal?

Shouldn't be making vibrations. Maybe a improper installation, bolts aren't tight/torqued enough maybe? Shoot a message too Josh of XLR8, he'll fix your problem ASAP.
