WIX drop in Air filter or OEM

The WIX is a tad bit cheaper, but my searches show that it filters/restricts possibly more than the OEM?

Which air filter is overall better?

I would go with OEM or Purolator paper type filters. They are cheap and reliable and won't impact performance. The stock intake is more restrictive than the filter so the filter is not the bottleneck on performance no matter what brand you get.

It is true that less restrictive filters will let in more crap into your intake and that would be my biggest concern. For example, the K&N that many people (and me 10 years ago) like lets in much more crap than OEM. There was a lot of data at www.bobistheoilguy.com if you're interested.

Yeah I've had K&N drop in on my old honda for 10yrs.
Motor ran like a champ. I'm not advocating K&N, I do realize it lets more dirt in and because of that, I'm not going K&N anymore, despite having one for 10ys on the same honda without any issues.

I'm down to between a WIX and OEM I think, they both seem to filter pretty good from what I've found on the net.
The WIX is a few bucks cheaper, and has a higher pleat count.
WIX "seems" to be the most restrictive from what I read.

If your worried about performance then get OEM. If you want better filtering then get WIX.

would go with OEM or something that has similar amount of pleats. The Wix one has half as many pleats are the OEM filter.
