Will this Spoon Radiator Cap Work?

So, I went to this shop that was having 60% off of its instock items and decided to pick up a Spoon radiator car for SUPER CHEAP! The thing is, is that the OEM radiator cap says 1.1. The Spoon one says 1.35. Will this be ok to use on my car?

Thanks!

1.1 bar is 16 PSI, 1.35 bar is 19.5 PSI. It is your call, but I wouldn't use it.

eBay!

But really it will "work" but you would have to watch to make sure it never overheats so you don't damage anything. The paranoid feeling of that isn't worth having a mod like that under my engine bay that I won't see that often.

Ok so I googled and found this: http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-j...iator-cap.html

Also found this: http://www.inlinefour.com/spoonhigradc.html

The people in that forum seem to think it is ok to use. I am going to PM I Hate Cars lol

if its not tested on a TL dont use it-- regardless of what a 4cylinder club may say~

16 psi is normal radiator pressure and makes the system work
All the seams, connections etc are made to withstand a bit more than that
BUT
pushing it to run 19.5 all the time --not on my car thats for sure!

Cheap is rarely the correct part to use on a TL
Those 2 dollar spark plugs dont work either- I dont care what parts book says they fit- they wont work in a TL!

Back in my younger days with my crx's and civics, the "tuner shops" always said that for every tenth the cap went up, increase pressure, the engine temps would lower a certain degree. I used them, both spoon and mugen and never had any issues. With stock, turbo or swapped set ups. Just my

Been running a 1.35 Cap from NRG on my car for almost 2 years. No issues. By raising the internal pressure of the system you actually raise the boiling point of the water/coolant.

If you are worried about it, don't do it, but I have been running one for awhile with no adverse reactions.

There have been issues with the $25 per plug spark plugs as well. So that is very poor logic. As previously stated, mine has been installed for 2 years not to mention I had one on my Prelude as well.

Given they do not do much in lines of performance, but the do make it look a bit better under the hood if you are trying to dress it up.

This is what I wanted to hear!! haha.. Smoeone who has ACTUALLY used one. I will put this Spoon one on and keep my stock one in the trunk just in case. I am going to be making a 3 hour drive this weekend. I am going to test this thing out then.

CAUTION: SUPER OLD THREAD BUMP
I searched and this seemed to be the most recent thread.

How has the higher pressure cap held up a few years later? I am considering this, and its the only mod HeelToe has listed under 'Cooling' for the UA6. I do occasionally take the car to the track for shits and giggles. Thanks.
