If so, what are you guys doing with your engine without the mounts... I know obviously not drive it, but just let it drop down or keep it raised using stands?

Mine have donuted, and need to figure out if I should wait for some new mounts, or get these swapped out
what i would do is call them, let them know that your 60A bushings doughed and tell them you cant afford any downtime since its your DD. ask them if you can pay for them through pp, have them ship them out and get a refund once they receive yours.

otherwise, your going to have to wait.

Back from the dead.

So i took a spin out in the TL this morning 4AM to do some "testing"... My wheel hop is fucking bananas.. I have the 75A bushings and im going to get the excelerate damper. I want to check if my bushings are shot but without removing ALL 3... Should i get away with checking either or the front or rear or does it have to be both? im not really too worried about the side but if i have to, thats the easy one.

I would highly recommend you get Excelerates motor mount and engine torque damper. I was at 102k when I got them replaced on my 6speed, and two of them were shot. The torque damper could be pushed in without any hesitation(which is bad). The car now feels crazy solid and planted and no more wheel hop. Feels like a go kart i think.

These are the parts.

It's is a nice combo package that saves you a 50$.

Why? I dont ever abuse my car. That video taken last night was literally me testing things out. I've barely had any wheel hop cuz i dont drive it hard off a dig... Once its moving, its great and I have no problems shifting.. I didn't do anything different than what EVERY OTHER 6speed has done..
You see a video online of a test to see how things will work and now i treat my tranny like i want to break it.. lol.

All of the part numbers for the mainshaft & countershaft match between the 04-08 TL 6MT, 03-07 Accord 6MT, and 03 CL-S 6MT. How did you determine that the shafts were solid and not hollow between the different vehicles?

Is it possible that Honda has just specified the new (hollow) parts as replacements for the CL-S, rather than stocking the old (solid) parts?

I never read about your setup but obviously you have some serious work done. I've never heard of a NA TL that can chirp 3rd let alone 4th.

Thinking about it so until then i'm only wot when already rolling

I will need to start saving, but I am at least getting torque damper soon since it is almost affordable to me after necessary expenses first

^The 3G TL doesn't use radius rods. They have lower A-arms with a compliance bushing in the front. I'm not sure how much they contribute to wheel hop, but quite a few of the TL/Accord owners are experiencing compliance bushing failure. There's a few people on V 6 P looking into polyurethane replacements.

Bump??? Sure why not!!

So im getting ready to start installing my build and i will be looking at all 3 mounts soon. I installed the xlr8 Torque damper which made every shift seem stiff and great but i want to get this all done on my first try. Should i just replace the lower control arm bushings?? i've read they are just plain weak and will break soon anyways especially since im so low as well...

If I was replacing the compliance bushings (LCA) I'd go with the PCI Spherical ones. One time shot. It also improves handling and road feel as its metal on metal.

The only thing I'm very concerned with with the Fastline PCI's is that they are not sealed at all...letting dirt and debris to get into them and score them causing them to bind and screech...

Looks like the Full Race has the same issue...Bouncer07, how do you know these fit the TL also?

^^^ not much at all, I have them and love them...the *only* time it kinda vibrates more than usual is when the car is stopped in DRIVE with the A/C on...but the pros definitely outweigh the cons (more solid feel, no wheel hop for my automatic, less engine movement which would help if you have a j-pipe that doesn't have the flex pipes)

Because I installed this mod into my friends 6sp TL-S and when i drove it, the car is more responsive and got a better grip in handling. A couple of things I know about FR is that their traction balls will not bind due to the misalignment spacer design they have. With it being billet-stainless steel vs the stock rubber piece, this mod will help that transmission live longer and your tires will thank you later.
Or you can simply call them and talk to Full Race in person over the phone. About screeching, I've heard about this but with a little WD-40 applied, noise would be gone.

ummm, yesterday while going to red box i was taking a left u-turn.
I heard clicking.
might be axles?

what concerns me is that I do play with my car and might have induced wheel hop a few times.
How would I know if the LSD took a dump?
I'm assuming the gear being broken like that, I wouldnt be able to shift?

I have a bad upper tranny mount that i will fix first and then test. The wheel hop i have is just crazy. I already have 85a mounts that i will check at the time and the NRG TD... if i still have wheel hop, i will jump on these.

Thanks for the heads-up about the FR traction balls. The only reason I asked is because they only claim them to work on:

"Traction Balls fit all 2006+ Civic Si, R18, older RSX and civics also compatible." (From their website)

took off my tires to inspect axles.
they look fine, no tears in boot. no leakage.

I did, however, find a ripped tranny mount.

MY car isnt operating correctly, I'm still concerned about the LSD.
is there a way to test it with out doing burnouts and putting more strain on the tranny?

Operation:
- engine off, raise front end and place on jack stands
- block rear wheels and apply parking brake
- Shift trans into 1st and rotate one wheel by hand and make sure other wheels turns opposite direction
- repeat procedure for other wheel

Limit Torque Check:
- engine off and front on jack stands
- block rear wheels apply parking brake
- Trans in neutral, using a flex-type torque wrench measure max torque while rotating wheel backwards (use two full rotations)
- Trans in 1st, repeat previous measurment
- Calculate limit torque by dividing step 3 by step 4 (should be greater than or equal to 2.5)
- Repeat procedure on other wheel
- Replace LSD if limit torque is lower than 2.5

They are saying it should be more than twice as hard to turn the wheel with the car in gear.

this is what I know:
When I picked it up from the 2nd shop(nspec_4ya's friend) told me: "the first shop said they found a worn mount BUT DID NOT REPLACE IT."

now, if you recall, I HAD SO MUCH TROUBLE with my insurance company in the first place.
I'm not sure on whether I should call them and ask, because likely, they'll deny.
I'm going to give them a call tomorrow.

the car is jacked up at the front.
car is off, and is in 1st gear.

when I rotate the passenger tire forward or to the right, the sticker I put on the left (driver side) spins the opposite way.

or I think.
Now, Im just confused.

this test confirms that the LSD is working. or, thats how I understand

Now that I kinda know its not the LSD, I wonder why my car feels so different.
could the torn mount allow the tranny to shift its weight enough to where it throws balance off?
as in, when driving the car doesnt feel correct.
Sorry, that I cant put my feelings into words......

My car was making clicking sounds when turning left as well. I was told it was the CV joints, not necessarily the axles themselves. I have absolutely no experience with LSD transmissions or how to check it or to tell you anything (sorry).

One thing I will tell you though, is that it looks like it's time to upgrade to the TL-s trans mount

Justin, you should also check your top tranny mount. If the bottom has been bad for so long, it might've put too much stress on the top one. I just bought mine for $36 shipped.
