Whether or not to install PCD's on my TL

So i have an opportunity to locally have PCDs purchased and installed for $225 by a fellow member on the forum. I have a 04 TL with th rv6 1st gen jpipe, CAI, and stock Type S exhaust. Im really wanting a new exhaust with a nice sound but due to having to spend $800 on new tires ill be low on discretionary spending for a couple weeks. Will the PCDs give my current setup a little more sound and better hp and torque or will it not really be noticeable. Appreciate the input!

i would definitely do it. ive had experience with your mods
currently
rv6 v3 pcds
rv6 jpipe
custom exhaust
thought my exhaust is raspy as hell from 3k+ i felt a huge improvement performance
if your running teh stock exhaust im pretty sure you shouldnt hear much rasp

your exhaust will get a little louder

Are those PCDs the RV6 V3 or the V2?

V2 are more prone to cracking.

If it's the RV6 V3 for $225 INSTALLED than GO FOR IT!

Retails for $350 new and you would have to install it yourself...

You'll easily gain 10hp for peak power. Maybe even 15hp.

I am a 5AT with CAI, Rv6 V3 Jpipe + PCD, completely oem stock cat-back exhaust and I experience rasp at 3,000-4,000RPM. Past that there is no rasp. Car sounds a tad bit louder, especially when you first start it. Even louder on cold starts until it warms up than it's as quiet as stock at idle.

Love the smell when you're at a red light or a stop sign with your windows down.... You can clearly smell the catless car! (Actually you still have your 3rd cat in place so it might not smell that bad)

V2 prone to cracking for $225 (used for xx,xxx miles)

or

V3 much better welds and not as prone to cracking for $350 (brand new)

Up to you to decide.. I'd go for the new v3 though.

I like the high flow cats, but out of your choices I'd get the V3 PCD's and a better J-Pipe.

I would be worried. This would make DRS25 the 3rd owner.

1st owner put on x,xxx miles
2nd owner put on 5,xxx miles

Not trying to be a dick, but just educating the OP about the bad that seems to be some what common among the V2 PCDs

$225 + install is a good price I'll admit. But if they crack 6 months after install it's gonna be a huge headache for you... You could either leave them on and drive until you get it welded, but I'm sure it would sound loud as shit since it's leaking.

Or you can take it off and put the stock ones back on, but you would most likely have to uninstall the PCDs yourself which is very time consuming. I did it with a friend and it still took over 3 hours. I can't imagine doing it without a extra pair of hands!
