Whats the best exhaust for a 2004 TL?

I got a 2004 6-speed manual TL stock and want to add a new exhaust. Whats the best exhaust in your opinion and could you please tell me around how much it cost for the exhaust plus to install it?

Thanks guys!

I don't think that you're going to get a solid answer on what is "the best". Everyone has different ones, and will say that they like it, and that it may be the best. If depends on what you're looking for as far as sound. Greddy is very loud, compared to Tanabe which is quiet. An entire new cat back exhaust will cost between $800 and $1200 roughly. Install can be done on your own. I'm sure install prices will vary depending on where you bring it.

I do not have an aftermarket exhaust but will most likely be buying the Tanabe one, since I don't want a loud exhaust, and like the look Tanabe offers. Hope this helps in some way.

Well from what I've read, the quads, if you can find them, require the type s rear bumper (or most body kits) so the tips can fit in the openings. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I even think the ATLP quads were D/C'ed? I think there are other quad options out there though.

There is an ATLP Base version available, its what I got. I gotta tell you ... I love it. From sound to quality to tip design I think is the best exhaust for 3G base TL.

PIC's of ATLP Base on my car => https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-photograph-gallery-96/first-time-posting-picures-my-ride-743390/

not sure, but I don't think XLR8 is quieter than ATLP
as for ATLP being "very loud" ... I wouldn't say that, I would describe ATLP Base as a 2 stage system. When you driving around town it's quite to moderate, but when you step on it ... it comes to life and roars like a wild animal.

I'm getting the Greddy EVO2 for my TL. I don't mind loud! The less-than-greater-than char is very accurate. I suggest a ATLP Base...it sounds good for you, since I don't know how loud you want it.

ATLP all the way. Fom the look of the quads to the sound they make, everything about the ATLP is just perfect for me. Non-res is the only way to go for full agressive sound or keep the 3rd cat and have a more muted tone.

ATLP all the way i just installed mine about 2 weeks ago and loving it. Although i wish that the ATLP quad exhaust system wasnt discontinued but none the less the ATLP base exceeded my expectations....

CT all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i might be abit biased since i own a CT catback, but they have wicked build quality and fit. i also have the ATLP V1 j-pipe and race pipe, they are also a really really good product.

i dont know about the base but i have the XLR8 type-s quad and i have heard the ATLP type-s quad and XLR8 is definitly louder. i know other members that have been in my car and have heard the ATLP and have said that mine is louder.

i dont know where the misinformation came from that ATLP is louder then XLR8. ATLP has a slightly deeper tone to it.
