Geez.... these guys need a life..... Seriously... put car vs. car and then we will show them who the better cars and drivers are. Anyday, anytime. I have repeatedly beat CL Type s's over and over and over.

In reality, it's nothing more than a ridiculous post for a riduculous thread. Oh, and my official entry in the AZ Inter-forum Pissing Contest is 10'.

I bet the stock CL-S 6MT could take on stock 5AT's... I raced my brother's modded TL-S and we were pretty much dead even. Then again, he knows how to take off (goes to the track quite often) and had high perf summer tires, whereas my TL is my first stick shift car w/ shitty EL42's and didn't dump the clutch or anything.
I dunno about 3G 5AT's though... I mean I have yet to see one break 15's at the track.

I was just joking anyway.

I too have yet to see a 5AT break 15's.
But the weird thing is that someone on the forums (I think it's againstallodds) ran a 15.6 1/4 mile and then he clocked 14.3 with intake, grounding kit, exhaust, and UR pulley. I don't know how he shaved ff over a second off his 1/4 mile time but I believe his car wasn't fully broken in. I have to go search the racing forum and see what he wrote again. But you are right about a CL-S 6MT beating a 3rd Gen. 5AT. Now 6speed CL-S vs a 6speed 3rd gen TL....would be an interesting race.

![rofl](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
Then neither you or your friend knows how to drive a manual transmission. I'm not saying I'm a master, but my friend Andrew is. He's the best amateur driver I've ever seen, and he's an ASE certified mechanic, plus he's an S2000 division manager at a tuning shop. AND he just got accepted into the Bridgestone Racing program.
Okay, now to the point. He has an S2000 which he picked up a few months ago. Of course, we raced several times. My mods are listed in the signature, and we are DEAD EVEN, provided we both get good launches, or take off at the same time from a roll.
His S2000 has nothing, as far as power mods go. So for you to say that you can pull on an S2000 in a stock auto TL... it's complete horse shit. My car is putting down 239.8 fwhp, plus a couple more engine mods since then, and I was dead even with a stock S2000 with a good driver. You're gonna need more than a stock auto TL, fella.

I traded in my 2002 S2000 for an 05 Tl 6MT, Navi. My 6MT would be a good competitor for a STOCK, AVERAGELY DRIVEN S2000. A properly driven one would have a hard time low end, but at once past first, and going into second, it would definitely be a no brainer for the S2 to win that race.
My S2 was not stock, and I know my TL would not stand a chance, especially from 30-120. S2000's pull like a raped ape, especially in 3rd gear. the pull is just insane! An auto TL would have no chance unless it was SC'd......thats a whole different ball game though!

Well, some of you are going by magazine/published times...
I can bet you my car that I can pull on a stock S2000 up here. At an elevation of near 6000 ft., I can toy with a stock S2000 and still win, YET I could easily get destroyed by an A4 1.8t/2.0t. It's all relative in real life.
In fact, I went on a quick cruise with some S2000's back in fall, and I could very easily catch up/pull on them on straight roads... of course, once we hit the twisties they were gone and I was left behind, but you get my point. We didn't race, so I can't give you any specifics, but S2000's aren't so quick everywhere... just saying, let's not raise the BS flag and bash someone - we can wait for more info and see how the story develops and have a better laugh if he/she is indeed talking out of his/her ass.

One on the right for me
when it dries out i will be more than willing to go to sears point to see what a CL can do.
this is probably way out of perspective but when i was in my 92 q45 a brand new CL (im guessing 2002) went up against me on 580...just us two on the road. i pulled harder on the CL then and i know my TL pulls harder than my Q.

Mag and street racers
. Forget about S2K let's return to TL-S vs. new TL.
Go tracking both cars (stock vs. stock) to find the winner. That way you'll have a perfect way to know the outcome - light tree and timeslip at the end![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
On the street it's all about reaction, driving skills, unequal car condition and who's got more balls![Roll Eyes](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
On the drag strip it doesn't matter if your reaction is 5.0 seconds or 0.001, you won't be clocked until you move. Again, in the end you can see who's won by 60'...330'...1/8 and finally 1/4mile with trap speeds. Do couple rounds and even swap cars and try again

no bullshit here. the S2000 specs are below...2800lbs, ok, its only 240hp, but its 9grand redline instead. after we raced, we stopped and talked. he was not sandbagging it. like he would want me to beat him? come on! he wasn't 500 lbs, and how the hell could he be a bad shifter? i did say DEAD NUTS EVEN, right? if he was a bad shifter, i would notice him taking me and then shifting and i would take him for a bit and so on. this was WOT vs. WOT.

and for comparison, i looked up the TL's spec on the same site. Looked suprisingly similar in performance...although, i don't believe the 1/4 mile time for one minute. running a 14.4? never heard of that happening.

I have an 05 6MT - can I call you a dumbass and that your 04 crap is outdated? Kinda stupid to say an 03 TL-S is outdated, no?
You should see his car (and the mods) before start talking like an idiot.

Well, back to the topic at hand....
Whatever you own (and you like it), you'll think that it's the fastest and the best car in the world. Trust me, on some level you think that.
You're driving your TL and you see some guy driving a souped up <put crappier car than TL here> and you think to yourself "what a piece of <put your favourite diss here>". If you're telling me that you don't think this at one time or another, you're not being truthful. On the other hand, the guy in his souped up car is thinking, "That guy in the TL thinks he's so cool? He doesn't know what my car can do...I'll destroy him!"
With that example, we have the people of the 2nd-gens (TL/CL), thinking that they can outrun our cars to nullify any possibilities that our 3rd-gens TL is better than their cars in all aspects. Thinking that "at least my car is faster than your car, even though I spent X amount of money souping it up" gives them peace.
And that is okay...

My outdated '03 TL-S will run circles around your car.
Besides...

Yep, that's an '05 6-speed next to my outdated '03 TL-S. It's not like I have an '03 because my family can't afford a 3G.

Get a fucking grip on life and stop acting like a jackass. Also, you quoted an automatic driver's post and defended it, without clarifying that you had a 6-speed, which would normally make people assume that you also have an automatic. So on top of learning how to drive, learn how to debate better.
So you had a 2G when you were 17, and now you have an '04... What does that make you, like late teens, early 20's at the most? Stop acting like a spoiled jackass. It might make you look cool in high school, but it doesn't cut it in real life.

Check my signature; I have over 10,000 dollars into my car, not even counting labor because I do all the work myself.

we're all part of an acura family. no need to argue back and forth about which is the better car.
