What intake to get?

First, forgive me if this will be a repost.

I am thinking of replacing my stock air intake. I have been reading other posts but I am still confused.

K&N typhoon intake part KN-69-0021T
- I like this one the most because I can switch it to short ram to full CAI.

I am also looking at Injen and AEM intakes.
Any injen intakes that can do the same.

Also any sites I can get a Progress or comptech anti-roll bar? It's probably just preference.....
Thanks guys..

correct... if you damage your throttle body butterfly the dealer wont cover it... if you hydrolock the dealer wont cover it (but insurance might)

Whats is the best for the least problems? I heard a short one is better. The 2006 TL manual I bought in Dec 08 has 29k miles and a great Acura Certified warranty which I dont want to FCK with. I have never like CAI because of the Warranty issues. But I would like to add some HP. I was thinking XLR8 exhaust and J-Pipe and MAYBE ??? a CAI. Which will add HP and have the least problems???

Sorry, my knowledge about these is NILL.

Any cat-back, j-pipe and CAI won't void your warrenty and all have low chances of breaking and voiding your warrenty. The warrenty can only be voided if the aftermarket part that you added caused the damage...and that won't even void the entire warrenty, it will just void the warrenty on that part.

^^^OK. What then would be the best HP gain with the least problems. What brand and model ? Thanks.

My neighbor put a CAI on his 07 Civic Si and it sounded like it was bogging when he hit the gas, like it took a while longer to rev then stock? WTF.

No, the CAI will not.

A: NO. The only time this can happen is from improper installation that causes damage to a vehicle system. If a service technician denies your warranty claim ONLY because the car is modified with an AEM intake system and the vehicle system failure was not a direct result of the installation and use of an AEM intake, please refer him to the Magnusson Moss Warranty act. You can download the Magnusson Moss Warranty act from SEMA’s website at: http://www.enjoythedrive.com/san.

It is an AEM cai that fits 3G TLs but is sold for Honda Accords 03-06.....part # 24-6110C. It is considered a very tight fit, and some "banging"(literally) mods to make it clear, but not all. Guys correct me if I'm wrong. Stillhere153 has a good review on it.

Okay, so if you have to "bang" things to make it work, why not just get the one designed for the TL? I'm hard pressed to believe that the hp gains of this "V2" intake over the one designed for our cars is worth the hassle of making it fit...does anyone have any more information on this topic?

I installed the V2. The banging involved was about 4 whacks to a thin piece of sheet metal to fold it back about 1/4". Not a big deal. You might not even need to bang it, but I'm anal and wanted to make sure that I had plenty of clearance.

Check out this review. It goes into good detail.

I REALLY like the tone vs. V1 that I finally recently heard on the TL. Also, you get a little more low end power. My butt dyno noticed a bit of change.

I bought a ebay knock off of the AEM for around $45 and then bought a K&N cone for it at the local parts store. I think I spent a total of $85.

The tubing is the same size and shape as the K&N, and has the mount bracket at the end of the tube by the filter so it eliminates the bracket breaking like many here have had on the K&N's.

Pic of my hybrid knock off.

Here is the tubing I bought.

I do not remember which cone I bought, but if you decide to do this I could find out for you. I bet if you painted the pipe (looks great as it comes) side by side it would be all most impossible to tell if apart from the K&N other than the Carb sticker.
