Want to spend some money on my car

Ok I have a small dilemma, I've had my 06 Acura TL for about a year now, always wanted to add something to it, nut never had chance. Now I want to spend maybe around $1,000 to $1,500 any suggestions what’s the best way to part with cash? Something that will enhance performance and change the look a little. By the way I'm in NY area so if anyone knows of dependable mechanics that would be helpful as well.

Thank you in advance.

Spread the Money around a little. Perf + Looks.

- Sport Springs (H&R, Eibach, Tein). Gives a moderate drop, improved handling; ~$200;
- Progress 24mm RSB. Improved Handling. ~$150;
- CAI. Nice Sound, a little HP (say, 3 - 5). ~$175 - $250;
- J-Pipe & Test Pipe. Nice Sound. Modest HP increase (say 8 - 10) (more HP if/when the catback exhaust goes in). ~$550.
- UR Pulley. Modest HP gains. (say, 5 - 8) ~$200.

That's about $1300 - $1400 and good set of "start up" mods.

Agree with Bearcat. That is a good all around list. You won't regret.

I spent my money on all suspension mods first.

All those are DIY-able.

RSB, J-Pipe, Test Pipe = Simple

Pulley = Simple with $25 Pulley Removal tool. *Do* add in $45 for a new Gates Belt though.

CAI = Pretty easy. Helping hand with the bumper is a big plus.

Springs = Moderate Difficulty. Mostly because of the Rear Seat removal and the length of the job. Help again a big plus. Good tools ease the job too.

Money is a biggg factor. I agree with his list. Depends on your style as well.
I have/I spent:
Greddy Evo 2/800$
H&R Race Springs 2-2.5 inch drop/210$
Injen CAI/200$
Door Visors/200$ (from dealer but definately could find for cheaper)
plus some x-tra change for whatever else.

And two other inexpensive mods are KAIXEN D2C bulbs (change kelvin to change the color) or the P2R throttle body spacer and thermal gaskets.

Go to the black market and check out what you can find from other members selling their stuff. You may be able to save yourself some money and pick up extra parts.
I would lower your car with the Tein Basics or Megans. I believe someone is selling on right now on the black market.
An Aspec front lip is a must if you want your car to look different. Couple the Suspensioin and the aspec your car will look noticeably different.
If you want more HP I would get the CAI and Pulley because both those are cheap mods.

Start you DIY search in the 3G Garage. Tons of DIY and other info here:

I've had to trade off what I want now vs what can I afford now too. You can mix & match the things you want to do to fit your current budget. Don't settle for something cheap - just have patience to save up for the things you want.

Another low cost visual is changing bulbs to LED - domes/map lights/vanities/reverse lights/license plate/ trunk/doors, etc. Depending which lights, figure ~$60 - $100 shipped.

Its not all about HP increase The J-pipe with a CAI and exhaust really smooths out the power curve and gives the J series a much needed increase in low-end torque.

RSB is deff the *BEST* bang-for-the-buck mod i've done to the TL....it literally transformed its cornering characteristics.
