here is my piece arriving from spintech 3" race bullet in SS costed a god damn fortune for a pipe segment...
it "appears" to impede exhaust pulses? should I leave it alone or have the shop installing my pipes grind it down?
whereas here, it's flush and flat
it appears to be like this >< from the inside if the pipe were to be dissected for examination
also where one would install this for maximum use? after jpipe? after resonator? and which end should be facing which way? I'm assuming the shorter end with the raised bit should be aimed towards the jpipe

I have no clue how that particular product will help you but I'm glad to see somebody using Spintech on a TL . One of the best sounding mufflers for a V8, way meaner than Slowmasters. I'm half tempted to put a Super Pro Street in place of my mid muffler, I had one on my Trailblazer SS which was single 3" and it sounded very mean.

Dude.....what is that? What purpose did you buy this? I'm assuming you wanted the exhaust to scavenge better? From what I've read, you need a venturi collector. I've never seen a tube with a 'venturi effect' going on inside? Maybe put this after your collector on the Jpipe? I can't see this doing much of anything though.
The whole point of the venturi is when the 2 pipes meet, to speed the pulses up together (neck the pipe down a bit smaller), then slow down and rapidly expand the pulses (venturi section, where it tapers to a larger diameter), in an effort to 'suck' the remaining gas out of the cylinders. I don't see this happening with this pipe because the gases from both primaries on the Jpipe will have already come together.

Maybe the venturi is meant to remove drone on his car? I use 2 of them in my 3'' exaust in my turbo integra and it really works! oh and I use a real venturi effect like the one in this picture:
http://www.tantrumkitesurf.com/blog/...uri_effect.jpg
I don't see any venturi effect in the piping posted by OP though...

I looked through Spintech's site, that looks like their race bullet. Spintech's sound great but I'm just not getting that one. Looks like its intended for racing where there is no dB requirement but it has to have a muffler.

@dom/sonnick yes, main goal was for drone reduction and minus a low amount of DB if anything. If any gains would be awesome but not likely. (the link provided below states that gains or re-gains were made but it is a entirely different car and set up)
I called spintech and was told that no matter where it is placed will do the same thing (shrug)
I'll just have it after the resonator as the exhaust gases slow down and seep into the steel skin pores and possibly push back out at higher velocity after trailing pulses go thru the vortex =0
On the side, http://www.jk-forum.com/modified-jk-...exhaust-73136/
these jeepers seem to have gained or re-gained tq and mpg and the OP placed it behind the muffler which is pretty far from the actual motor
@350 Spintech is new to me but willing to give it a try since new piping is coming soon. I was also going to run a 9000 series muffler where the mid muffler placement is but lack of funding, so i opted for the magnaflow bullet which is already stainless steel and is substantially cheaper. I agree that DB may drop no more than 4 with the bullet but drone reduction is supposedly phenomenal. 2 pre cat > jpipe > magnaflow 14in bullet > race bullet venturi
Magnaflow bullets have a tendency to be good @ taking up unnecessary noise, I have a feel it'll be loud only under higher throttle&rpm with low drone

To get rid of drone, insert one or two of them:
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...t/DSC05501.jpg
a lot cheaper... and this will remove the drone. I did not get any gain or lost on the dyno on the integra but I got a drone free car now I bought two from the Borla company.

I was surprised and very accepting of the fact that I seem to have gained power throughout the entire power band from idle all the way to redline with major significant increase from 3.5k and beyond it'll fly (exaggerated)
it is quite loud... but it has caused me to be more aware and drive as civilized as possible just to not piss anyone off. I tend to drive like asshat at times so it'll keep me in check possibly
. I've gotten into some life threatening situations in the past by blowing out the wrong ears

It takes almost 30hp on a 3,500lb car to feel a difference. That exhaust might be good for 1 or 2hp. My guess is additional noise is making it seem faster. It's impossible to gain hp from idle. Just how much exhaust flow do you think there is at 1,000rpm. Get it to a dyno, it will probably make close to stock hp.
And please don't drive like an ass hat. I feel embarrassed for the people whose cars make tons of noise and sound like they're quick and when you turn around to see what it is, it's something like a truck or a TL making all this noise and barely accelerating. I'm also one of those people who will pull you over for cutting me off or driving dangerously in heavy traffic and I'm sure there are plenty more like me.
The purpose of that piece is noise reduction at a small loss of hp. You reduce noise by expansion, back pressure, velocity. That uses back pressure and velocity to reduce noise.

Perhaps I was exaggerated because I was still in the excited phase, but by idle meaning this. I am quite sensitive to throttle position and it definitely required less throttle to get the car moving at low-high rpm compared to before. Though there can be many factors for this but it is noticeable enough for me.
I can assure you I seldomly "ass" around and I do not drive dangerously, or cut people off. Maybe my definition of asshat has changed, nowadays I'll randomly downshift for a romp if the coast is clear tho some ears don't seem to like it lol.
Thanks, videos don't do justice and down the line will be adding another small resonator, no more pipe space unless I want to spend a lot on rear mufflers...

Trying to pull someone over for cutting you off is stupid. I had a guy follow me into parking lot jump out of his vehicle and acted like he was gonna confront me. I pulled out my pocket knife and he ran away like a lil girl.

That's a bitch move. If you deserve it, take it like a man. I'm not talking about someone just barely cutting you off but the kind of person you've been watching for 5 minutes driving like a retard. Most of the time they're the wanna be gangster type so it's fun for me in several ways.

It's still a bitch move if you drive like an idiot and pull a knife or a gun on someone when they confront you. I carry occasionally as well and during those times I avoid confrontations at any cost. When I'm not carrying and some guy puts peoples' lives at risk over and over with his car I'm going to say something to them. I don't get out and run at people and fight them. I'll get out and say something like cute driving and let them dictate which direction the confrontation goes.

@Grwnuprcer, it's actually 150$ (still a bit over priced) thanks, I'll take a mean sound as a compliment
@IHC agreeable, though I think you may have taken my wording the wrong way. Putting innocent lives that have nothing to do with "causer" is bad, I do not stand for that in anyway (of course anyone somewhat ethical should know this...) in any case there are times where one will drive wreckless in the heat of emotion or passion though one should try go with rational thought first
The least or no confrontations the better, maybe what I mean is "asshat" style driving or better termed "spirited" often when it is valid and safe

I'm going to bump this because there is some relevance and it may help others too
I ordered a smaller venturi piece to place behind the resonator to cut back on interior drone, i'm guessing i'm well over 100db inside the car and I have to run ear plugs or I or passengers will go bass deaf
also will be making a cone from the jpipe to the 3" for example http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=745269_0_0_
if anyone has better one's for a good price post away, if not this autozone one for 14-18$ might be good go

At least it's a manual, the auto would probably be even worse with the stock TC.

Thank you, I would definitely like to turbo but is definitely not cost effective haha
I am waiting to see how this smaller venturi piece will cut down on the drone, thanks domgsr-t

Where did you place yours? I'm planning on placing it before the single magnaflow resonator I have so it'll go thru that and then the resonator.
I am running out of space along the pipes as it seems to only accommodate a 6" long dynomax racebullet unless I run 2 muffler/silencer/resonator @ the rear which I do not want to do.
Also if anyone has anything on the 2.5 > 3" cone for the jpipe to 3" piping merge post away because that autozone one is tempting due to the price and I want to get all these little pieces done at one time

Wow I finally came back to listen to this, sounds incredible. Mine is similar at idle but a little higher pitched, I also have a different J pipe and the only actual muffler I have is the mid muffler, no rears, and a Dynomax res. So to get it straight, you have no mufflers, a res and the Spintech pipe? Shit I might wanna get rid of my mid muffler now.

@Dom I have the borla one placed so that it goes thru the venturi before my magnaflow resonator. Overall drone decreased but it shifted forward... I think i'll try some roxul safe n sound house insulation/deadener FML I want to retain my exterior note while killing interior sound
@350 thanks =] yes all i have is atlp v2 to 3" piping one magnaflow 14" and one spintech
it is loud as fuckleburgus and it'll kill your ears inside
@4dr viper haha i dunno about that but thanks =]
I'll post a interior video I made today later on when I have more time to get on the comp, before that I may go to lowes to buy some roxul safe n sound and if this doesn't work... i'm going to buy a 15$ dynomax race bullet to place behind the borla venturi or shift the spintech forward and place the race bullet near the end. Right now the spintech i have it placed where the mid muffler suppose to be to give velocity towards exiting the Y split any ideas suggestions?

it has shifted forward most likely because you have cured the back section but still have drove up front? Add another one like I did as forward as you can. At best it would be where you line opens up to 3'' after the j-pipe. I would not use roxul or any type of house insulation because it will cause condensation and rust will start
#36
Thanks, I'll see if some exhaust shops will do it low price to move the spintech closer towards the front and the borla towards the rear and add a 9" dynomax race bullet I got for 20$
also would you say extending the jpipe primaries longer would allow for drone reduction as it'll shift the power band lower? i.e.) rv6 v3 jpipe or xlr8 v2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2DvP...ature=youtu.be
Interior video, some windows are down a bit so the drone isn't as intense. Drone is INTENSE with all windows up

Found quite a major problem, so had my friend drive my car and upon entering the freeway I do not hear my car at all when it's just cruising in 6th
but inside the car cruising in 6th you get all sorts of ugly mindsplitting drone while the exterior you hear relatively nothing like it was bone stock until you romp it then it gets loud. On city local you can hear it from 3-5 car lengths away unless it's cruising @ set rpm then it's nothing again
So basically i'm just shitting on my own ears and not much occurs outside w/o more throttle or rpm
I don't have a 3rd cat, heatshields just welded to a str8 pipe. Single 14" magnaflow bullet and spintech
In picture is not shown but before the magnaflow is where I have the borla venturi, maybe the magnaflow is the cause of drone
Things I want to do:
Extend primaries of j pipe to how far down the piping?
Place the spintech where the magnaflow currently is or even closer towards the jpipe
Possibly get rid of the magnaflow and get a vibrant ultra quiet (I've had better experience w/ drone having no resonator and just muffler, I've also used the same vibrant on my previous set up)
Run the spintech to race bullet to borla venturi to vibrant ultra quiet

my goal is to have all exterior noise and the most minimal interior noise possible. I achieved that at one point but it was on a completely older set up with a lot of frankenstein pipes.
You mean to place the venturi where the 2.5 becomes 3" ?
