This is not mustang II front. It is fox body front. TOTALLY different suspension

Wow.. That is an awesome project, although I'd have used an SBC instead of an SBF.

Dang. Love the build this is very similar build I want to do on a salvaged TL id find.

Is the owner doing it himself? I do know I got quoted a RWD conversion would cost in the 12-13k ballpark range. IIRC, IHC you had someone that could've done it for slightly cheaper.

I'd like to see how much cutting was needed to fit it. I've always contemplated just making the J32 longitudinal mount, with an S2K trans, and the newer TL rear diff. I doubt the oem rear diff is stong enough for RWD only, but man it would be fun.

I think the engine mounting would be the easiest part, just having to extend some harnesses, and bam, all electronics still work!

Where'd I put my sawzall?!

+1

Big V8, live axle in the rear, in a car that already has roughly 60/40 weight distribution?

I'd love to see them make the build 50/50 with a proper differential.

I'm really just glad to see the project didn't fall off the grid. Usually this stuff ends abruptly and never moves again.

I agree the way it's being put together probably won't handle well, but you gotta give props for the ingenuity going into this conversion to fabricate it and make it even work.

I doubt handling is the main interest of this project. It's using a carbed turbo Windsor. Driveability probably isn't much of a concern either, lol.

Anyone can post up a pic of a rear axle beneath a car on a lift.

How about something more convincing with said conversion?

I didn't see any pics of the rearend. Also, in all the pics, the J is still transverse. Are you converting to rwd and still using the J32?
