5.0 does not equal 351ci. Wonder which it is? And damn, that car looks like it's had a rough life. Hope it all works out.

Fuck yeah! Always dreamt of doing this! Finally someone crazy enough to try it! That body style deserves RWD! Kudos man!

Motor sits perfectly between the axles too! Fuck that's gonna be an awesome build!!!!

Looks like they picked up a totaled TL to do this to it.

Curious to see what they do with the exhaust, driveshaft and how they fit a rear end and essentially custom fab the entire rear suspension.

Think the spindles in front will be ok without axles going through them and a spindle nut holding them? I think they'll have to come up with something for that as well.

Going to need a new instrument cluster, it receives its input data from the ECM which obviously is going to need to be replaced.

He says its a mustang 5.0 and it surely isn't the coyote motor so I would assume it's a 5.0 out of the fox body.

Stock motor it's said to make 300 ft/lbs tq at only 3200rpm. With the added turbo it's going to be one torquey beast!

This car is going to need tons of work. I give him props for trying but don't see the point from a financial standpoint.

It's going to cost so much money and time that this build is going to come to a stall for parts. Then it's going to come down to 1-2 yr build. Once it reaches this far, all the time and money is going to be a part. Gets old really fast.. Always see some progress at first then the owner decides to not go through with it. Happens all the time. Don't give your hopes up. This conversion costs near $20,000.

It will be a shell of a TL and not much more than that. Lol! All new everything!

TURBOJ? Really? Lol

How will the TL frame hold up to that kind of power...in the rear?

I just think it's a little funny that there's a guy on here using a TL to make a FWD Mustang and another using a Mustang to make a RWD TL. I guess that proves that Mustangs are only good for scrap value.

The entire front end, including strut towers, is from the donor mustang.

As far as using the factory the instrument panel goes, that may prove to be difficult.

Either way it still is going to be a new path. Will be really interesting once its done. I'm hanging onto my TL since its worth next to nothing now and fully paid off so I'd love to try screwing around with it to this extent someday!

Same here with my TSX. If i keep it forever, its going to see a silly swap like this one day. It would be a challenging but wickedly fun project....with a all aluminum chevy motor of course lol.

Why a chevy motor? The ford 302 small block is a dead reliable motor and
you can extract good HP numbers. I guess with just the turbo set up he
could get 450 HP. Now with heads, cam and intake 550HP. Now a stock
T5 trans wont hold up to long. If he goes with six speed or a built AOD
they both can handle 500+ HP. But I'm just talking here. There will be
extensive fab work here too. But this could be a great project build.
