Check Kennedy's post on page 1 and my post (with tool list) on page 2. If you don't have the Honda Pulley Removal Tool, good F'gn luck.

There are agueably "right" ways and "wrong" ways, but if that's the case, I stand corrected.

I read this to mean he was not able to get the Stocker off:

Perhaps I mis-understood? If not, then tldrummer89 will be more likely to be successful using the tecniques Kennedy outlines in the referenced thread.

Thumbs up

I'm in NY. My mechanic installed it for $55. He said it's an easy install with the right tools. Easier than the AEM CAI for sure.

The difference is night and day. Doesn't quite make up for the lack of torque but definitely takes you to where the power is quicker.

yea my tech told me if the car is stick its easier than auto.....you hold the brakes and put the car in first and use a breaker bar..... for the auto you just press the brakes and use the breaker bar. being able to put it in first on the manual helps alot with torquing it correctly.

Hey DexDiamonds

Would your mechanic be willing to put on the UR Pulley (stock diameter) for me as well if I came in with the pulley?

Thanks

just get the crank tool and do it yourself
you just need some long 1/2" extensions, breaker bar and pipe.
the hardest part is getting that bolt loose after that its cake..
btw,im selling the tool if anyone needs it

Yeah he would have no problem doing it.

His shop is on East 29th right before it intersects with Flatbush.
Ask for Hung and tell him Valentine's son sent you.

guys I am seriously considering doing this mod. I have a few questions if you don't mind:
  • Who makes the best stock size pulley for the 07 TL Type S?
  • Where is the best place to order it from?
  • How is durability of this pulley over time?
  • Will it increase engine noise or wear?
  • Will it void the warranty of my car?
  • Can I still use my original belt on it? My car only has 12k miles.
  • Anyone notice better fuel economy with it installed?
  • Are there any downsides to doing this mod?
Thanks guys. I am so close to doing this mod despite I originally made up my mind to NOT do any performance mods on my car.

I cant give u definitive answers, just my experience with this, others chime in please. Ur for the pulley because they have been around for awhile and established. Got mine from vendor here..excelerate.

My pulley has only been on 2 weeks, others have had it for awhile with no probs. I cant tell any difference on noise .
Warranty...dont know on that one. Mine is out of warranty

Fuel economy ... too soon to tell for me just yet. Downsides to mod....none yet.

The downsides is what I am wondering as well. When i had a pulley setup on my old accord I had so many issues. At idle my lights would dim and I had to rev it up to keep the lights bright. I eventually went through an alternator. Than a batcap. Than my Honda battery. Thought it was just time for those things to go, but come to find out the pulleys were slowly draining the life out of all these things at idle. Took off the pulleys and all was good again. What a terrible experience.
Even though this pulley that everyone is getting here is the stock size, just lighter, I wonder if those problems would still exist? Or maybe it was that my pulleys were smaller...can't remember since it was so long ago.

My pulley is the stock size. I went this route since i have a system in my car. Also unless i am wrong all u can change on the 3g tl is ur crank pulley......As long as u run stock size i see no charging or electrical issues.
