Type-S components on base TL. Questions

i have been trying to search on here for a few days now. i have come across a few things that met the criteria, but im left with alot of questions.

i want to do basic/budget mods to the TL. i dont want to spend 1000 for a comptech catback new, so first off.. can't someone just have new mufflers welded in for MUCH cheaper?

type-s components.. i have purchased the primary cats. is it worth it to pick up the stock type s j-pipe? if i can get a good deal on one, its hundreds less then a richie or whatever version.

my primary concern is a bit more power (why not?) and better mileage. end result i am thinking;

type-s cats/j-pipe
bypassed third muffler
some sort of aftermarket mufflers welded in

would you guys advise otherwise? keep in mind i am not looking to spent a ton. thanks

It's not worth it to buy the type-s j-pipe when you can pick up a used ATLP for the same cost and it will give you more power. The type-s cats are a good upgrade, as they are free flowing yet not illegal. If you want to keep your stock rear bumper, you need to fnd a muffler that will fit, since the type-s rear bumper is alittle different.
I would look at making your stock exhaust system more free flowing, if a $900 cat back is not in your budget.

i have been doing alot of research and kinda stumbled into that. ill pick one of those up. my main focus here is some hp/mpg gains..

not going for all out performance, so ill try out my type-s cats and a j-pipe/3rd cat delete for now. from what i've read tonight, it should do exactly what im looking for.

the car came with a fujita intake already.. so i have that covered as well thanks for the help

picked up an atlp v1 j-pipe and test pipe today. my car is not lowered so it should work great for me. i know its a few hp less then the new rv6 v3 deal, but for what i paid.. i think it meets the criteria good enough for me.
