TLX rotor on 3G TL

Hi,
has anyone tried to fit the TLX 2015-2017 rotor on the 3g TL with brembo caliper?
they are a little bit bigger than the tl rotors, but i don't know if the oem brembo caliper from the TL-S will fit on this rotors.

regards
Hans

@justnspace
The rotor from the TL-S is to small for the european market.
The Honda Accord CU2 (same as TSX) has a 300x28mm rotor and the Type-S 320x32mm rotor here in Germany. So the small rotors are wraping very fast.

So if the TLX Rotor 320x28mm will fit under the Brembo caliper i only have to change the rotor.

What are you using as the source of the rotor specs; I don't see the specs you've posted as being accurate. Regardless, using a larger diameter rotor that what was designed to be used on any given car will not work unless you change the calipers (and probably the rest of the braking system).

Other faster cars use 320x32mm rotors.
I believe the sti and Evo use the same specs as the TL type S.

It's not a case of the TL rotors being too small.

Maybe try machining the rotors, effectively shaving off the part that wobbles

The caliper of the TL-S is very good. The Problem with the rotors is the temperature.
In Europe we drive faster than in US.

@justnspace
The Evo and STI have larger rotors in europe, too.
Evo VI, VII, VIII have 320x32mm, the Evo X 350x32mm
STI has 326x30mm rotors

Evo VI, VII, VIII have 320x32mm

That's the same specs, no?
i'm not to sure what's wrong with the temperature?

have a machine shop, machine the rotors to get rid of any pad material left on the rotor.
this should give you a great clean surface to mate with the pads.
if machine shop can't machine out the uneven surface, buy another set of TL-S rotors.

I have heard of people putting on different sized rotors, namely the G35, I believe. they are half an inch to an inch larger than the TL-S rotors.

i know the other setup.
G35 rotors with RL Caliper. the size of this rotors is 324x30mm.
That's ok, but i've to change to the RL Caliper, need brackets fit with TL-S knuckles and so on.

I've never seen brackets to fit this setup with TL-S Knuckles. All brackets are made to fit with Base knuckles.

I've done plenty of driving on the AutoBahn in Germany and I'm not buying the Brembo brakes on the TL are too small. If you're experiencing brake pulsing it may well be due to needing to have the calipers rebuilt/replaced as you may have a stuck piston which is overheating the brakes.

I mean, your plans are all falling through.
might have to rethink it and just use the TL-S rotors .

Perhapes i use 2-piece rotors. They should be a little bit better.

If you drive fast here you have to brake more than 5 times 130MPH to 40-50MPH.

Like I said, the Brembo brakes should be more than sufficient for that type of driving.

Back when I was working for Daimler-Benz in Stuttgart I rented a 2002 525i and did a lot of driving on the AutoBahn; on one occasion I came around a long right hand curve west of Munich where a sheer mountain wall was just inside the the curve and limited visibility around said curve. I was tooling along at around 215 kph (135 mph) and suddenly a motorcycle following a Citroen 2CV doing about 100 kph pulled out right in front of me. I hit the brakes so hard the ABS kicked in at about 200; before our speeds equalized I got within a half-meter of the rear wheel of the bike.

Add that stop to the other normal starts and stops I encountered during those months and one would have thought the brakes would have been toast. The thing is, the 525i never once had an issue with brake pulsing. So? Glad you asked. The brake rotors on the 525i are significantly smaller and thinner than the rotors used in TLs with Brembo brakes.

Like I wrote before, I think you have a different issue; larger/thicker rotors will not help you.

It sounds more like you need better cooling. Do you have a TL in Germany? Or just the brakes on another car? The TL has some features on the splash shield
and fender liner to help route air to the back of the rotor.
I have the Racing Brake rotors, but I only bought them to reduce weight. They have much better cooling than the OEM Brembo rotor.
