I'm using Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene from mCmaster.
Definitely not for performance, strictly looks, and its a little bit heavy due to the material thickness I went with.

Sounds great Villo! I'm getting mine ready for MSR Cresson just outside Dallas...
Thanks again for the Cipher brackets info! Just got my 75A Innovative Mounts installed today! We'll have to attack a road course one of these days and show 'em what the TL can really do! haha!

Hey Swoosh, thanks again for the heads up on the Innovative Mounts...I just installed the 75A and they feel great! The vibrations at idle in Drive aren't too bad at all and just cruising around I can't even tell they're there...
Shifting is much crisper and smoother when driving normal, but when WOT the shifts feel much more defined and quicker...definitely less movement. I highly recommend these for those who have full bolt-ons and don't mind slight vibrations at a stop in Drive.
One more thing, my PCDs and J-pipe (and stock exhaust) sound more aggressive as well.

^^^ I'm definitely loving the new sounds and feel of everything too! I was a little nervous at first because I thought they might be too stiff, but they are perfect! No regrets at all....

BTW, I saw some talk about wheel weights a few pages back. Youre running the Altima SE-R wheels, right? Theyre not exactly heavy for an 18x8, at ~18.5lbs each. But going for some RPF1s or TrakLites will definitely save some extra weight.
And reading these thread make me want to gut my CL.....but then I think about how nice the insulation is when its 20* out there

Yeah the wheels aren't that bad but I'm definitely in need of an upgrade, just SO expensive for lightweight wheels and new tires. But yes, had my eye on 17x9.5 rpf1's for a while now.
thanks for the sub!

Rear Diffuser is 99.9% DONE!!
OK all, I teased you a bit but I busted ass yesterday and today and got it just about finished. Most of you know I have next to nothing underneath the rear end of the car being the mufflers, heat shields, plastics, etc are all removed. Because of this, there is a lot of open space just waiting to catch and hold air on track; thus, we eliminate the space for air to catch with a, you guessed it, rear diffuser. A rear diffuser can serve multiple functions on a race car, mine is focused more at drag reduction with any downforce generated being a secondary bonus. I haven't decided if I'm going to close off the exhaust outlets but I will not do so until I block off and vent the inside of the rear wheel wells some other way. I say this because for the time being the only way air can get on top of the diffuser is at the back of the rear wheel wells where there is a small opening by the rear sway bar. But since the exhaust outlets are still open, the air/pressure can vent out no problem.
The diffuser is mounted with the brackets to the four mounting points for the stock rear heat shields, all the black plastic clips around the underside of the bumper and with some self-tapping screws in key spots for extra support. I used very thin aluminum keep the weight at light as possible, the whole thing is less than 7-8lbs. Even though it's all made from thin aluminum, it is very rigid and I have not doubt it'll survive any speeds I throw at it.
Still have some touch ups and adjustments to do but I know you're all pic whores so here's the status as of now.
See all that dead space up there?!

Yea the timing worked out perfectly! The field I'm in for is Mech. Aiming for Tactical Aircraft Maintenance as my top choice, all my other choices are within the aviation field and trickle down from there.

Lookin' great Villo! Can you post some full-body shots? My inner pic whore is not satisfied...
Also, can you post (re-post) pics, or send a link, of your current exhaust set-up? Thanks!

excellent...Hey Villo, I read where you used the Carbotech XP10s instead of the XP12s because of your weight...I was wondering do you think I should go with the XP12 since I'm not too much lighter than stock weight? And what did you use in the rear? Also, are you running any front camber arms (like the Skunk2)?
#586
Great progress! That diffuser is sweet! I live pretty close to Road Atlanta. I might have to make a special trip over there to see the "elegant aggressor" in action!
And btw, Subscribed!

Sounds good! Thanks for the info! I'll def be getting the 12s, I just have stock rear pads...any recommendations? I was thinking Axxis Ultimates just for a slight upgrade...and thinking the Skunk2 camber arms for -2.5 degrees...

The axxis pads are ok but I'd probably go for the HP+ or the yellowstuff pads if you don't want a race pad. The axxis pad doesn't have the greatest initial bite from my experience. The Skunk2 camber arms are nice but are pretty expensive for what they are really. Plus I doubt you'll ever need/want that much neg. camber. But hey, at least the install is easier. lol just my

You know, quite a few of you might be happy to know that I have about a 2/3 chance of moving to either Abilene, TX or Shreveport, LA in the next 6 months or so. Might be close enough to share some track time with all you TX fans of mine lol

Very nice work on your TL track car!
I just skimmed most of the posts this morning but it looks like you never deleted the power steering as mentioned?
Just wanted to point out (in case you weren't aware) that the Accord hybrid 05' - 07' had electronic power steering (EPS) and a V6. Would be a direct swap into a TL, just a little bit of wiring. It wouldn't be a huge weight savings but the weight would be lower in the chassis.
Keep up the good work!

^ And being electric, you would negate any parasitic loses from the drive belts.
But, Im not a fan of how EPS units feel. Its very artificial.

But on a plus side, Road Atlanta and the Blue ridge mountains are near! Tail of the dragon!
