For those who are running Rotora 4-pot 1-piece rotor BBK

I am reaching out to those who own:

Rotora 4 piston BBK
1-piece rotors

What will you do when the time comes to replace your rotors?

It is to my knowledge (and is very accurate) that Rotora will be creating only a single BBK for the 3G TL, which comes with 2-piece rotors. The reason being that originally, the 1-piece rotor BBK and the 2-piece rotor BBK each used two different calipers. Now, Rotora is consolidating so they won't have to produce two calipers. The new kit automatically comes with 2-piece rotors that are 30mm in thickness with a different caliper.

What does this mean? The 1-piece rotor is discontinued. So to those owners with this specific BBK, what will you do when the time comes to replace the rotors?

It's worse. Josh (Excelerate) informed me the price is $1550 + your current BBK complete. Ridiculous? I know.. might as well get a brand new stoptech BBK for $200 more.

So there is no solution...?

ROTORA discontinued their 330X23mm rotor. They are re-designing their one piece rotor to make it a curved vane 330X30mm rotor, which is the same width as their two piece disc in order to make only one caliper (at least that's my assumption).

They used to ask for just the calipers and discs back. Now they want you to send the entire kit back and you basically get an entire new kit. The upgrade is about $1300 plus shipping costs, CC fees, drop ship fees (ROTORA is crazy with their fee schedule). Honestly I think it's awful to do that to their customers. They should continue to produce the one piece disc but that is their decision. So if you have a one piece disc BBK unfortunately there's no replacement disc (unless we can put our minds together and find a 13" disc that would work.

Maybe someone could send me their old disc and I can send it to one of my suppliers to find a solution.

This really sucks, screw Rotora. Its either a used BBK or stoptech. No chance of giving them my business but I will tell anyone interested in a kit how they do business.

Is there any way you can get BrakeMotive or any vendor to get some rotors made in that dimension?

^They can make a rotor in that dimensions, but they will be no way close to the caliber of a BBK. Assuming you don't know the difference of BBK, there is over a $1000 difference in Brakemotive rotors and BBK.

This is why we stopped selling ROTORA years ago. They burned too many bridges with their customers, wholesale and retail. STOPTECH is a far better company with a better product, at a better price. And we are shortly releasing a 1 piece 13" XLR8 Big Brake Kit, which will be manufactured by STOPTECH. Even ROTORA's "new" 1 piece BBK for the TL is only a 12" disc, and it costs hundreds of dollars more than our soon to be released kit.

STOPTECH already offers a 2 piece 13" BBK; there was no need to reinvent the wheel. Our 1 piece disc is not a curved vane application but it is vented and it does use a power alloy compound. It basically is an economical solution to those searching for a 1 piece larger disc BBK without the heftier price tag.
