the MEAT was upon us and it was time to detail the car all over again...took some snaps on (almost) every step....
Here it goes...
started off with spraying the wheels/tires down with some grime reaper to get the brake dust off...
DSC_1793 by Anil Sadhwani, on Flickr
while that was soaking in, covered the battery and fuse box with some walmart plastic bags and then went at the bay with some P21s soft soap and degreaser if I saw a little oil spot (saw a little near the power steering pump)....a rebuild might be in the plans since its almost time for a PS fluid flush
DSC_1794 by Anil Sadhwani, on Flickr
then I went ahead and rinsed the engine bay off with the power washer....used blue Dawn dish washing soap and sprayed the car with it, used a wash mitt to get the dirt off and rinsed the car down....
guess the wheels are finally approved
DSC_1796 by Anil Sadhwani, on Flickr
after letting the engine bay dry, I took a microfiber to it and just dried it that way...used Back to Black on some of the hoses/fuse box cover and battery....engine bay is clean
DSC_1805 by Anil Sadhwani, on Flickr
DSC_1806 by Anil Sadhwani, on Flickr
Then I went ahead and sprayed the car down with some dawn soap again, instead of using a quick detailer or something else, I use the soap as lube for the clay bar....once clayed, I rinsed the car off and dried her down...
It was time to move the car in the garage, and I was stunned again with the blue pearls popping off the paint...
DSC_1820 by Anil Sadhwani, on Flickr
Next step, since there were no swirls in the paint, was just to use a jewelers polish AND then sealnt...I ended up using Wolfgang Paint Polish Enhancer for my polish on a White pad on the porter cable and then Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint sealant to seal that in and I put that on with hand and did not use a random orbital....it was 3AM so I did not take any pix and went to sleep....
Also, these showed up...and after texting Mr OCD Sloth, who told me how to put the caps on (where the name should face)...Thanks for being prompt Austin...

I did not take a single pic this weekend LOL...with making sure everyone was there and all the cars and peeps were facilitated well, I did not get a chance to click a single shot....
...and then Meko showed up !!!
this is at Saddlers Go Karting...

After the event, we came home, relaxed a little bit and then it was time to bid adieu to Meeks....dropped him off at the airport...there were some hugs and kisses...some things got wet...
After I got home, I snapped some shots of the trophy and the car...was the first time I had won something in the National meet....after 7 years...I was honestly satisfied...

the flight was scheduled for 7:40AM but since Dallas got some crappy weather in this morning, flights were just circling the airport, so we didnt take off from KC until 9AM...

Thanks Steven...yeah it was tough but we did use technology and do the google hangouts...so I technically was able to 'hangout' with the kid on fathers day
But yeah it was a bummer...and to add to that, my dad is in KC as well...so I missed being with him as well....would have made for an awesome family pic
But well...a man gotta do what a man gotta do
