Supercharger 07 and 08 TL TYPE S Project
Since I've given up asking questions on other threads about this possibility I open this one to get some feedback...
Since the comptech supercharger is compatible with previous years (04-06) j32
What is the possibility of running a previous year ecu with emanage or other type of control unit....
No negative feedback on this please, just knowledgable replies

But in trying to use a previous ECU..
Is the previous ECU compatable with the newer wiring harness, instrament cluster, imobilizer and climate control, since these are all tied together now thru the CAN bus. Also if all this was comapatible you would still need to get the imobilizer re-coded.

thanks for the offer, lookinco, I am still in the planning stages but would like to use this thread as the start and guide for all the type s owners...
Ok I stopped by sportcompactonly.com... which carries both the emanage units, which do you think I should go with, the "blue" or the "ultimate advanced"...?
I also see that the eManage comes with pretty straightforward directions... but I will definitely pm you when I decide which unit to purchase

I've heard boomslang makes the pnp harness for the tl o use with the emanage...only problem is noone around here can tune w/ emanage..i guess theres "no demand" for it here in LR.....i want to work with you on this as well as all the other TL-s owners im sure....so good luck and i guess well keep each other posted...

I can't answer your question regarding the Type-S fitment as I am not using the same block. There might be changes to the block which would not allow the supercharger to bolt up. I know for a fact that the TypeS has a totally different tranny. The tranny is different and the whole subframe is different.

that would be nice, but they dont make a standalone for TL's or accords. i suppose you can have one hardwired in, but you will loose a few things like TCS, CC, ABS possibly and definetely DBW. you'll have to hook up a cable to the throttle, amongst other things... to much hassle and a rats nest full of wires. piggback is your only option with the emanage ultimate or blue. ive been using the ultimate version for a year now, on the same tune, with 0 problems.
i dont understand whats the hold up with you type-s guys . i know the tranny and subframe may be a bit different, but thats has nothing to do with the top part of the engine. i gaurantee 100% the kit will fit. emanage is already there for fuel management, all you have to do is contact boomslang about making a PnP harness or hardwire it in and your good to go. someone please take the plunge ALREADY!! type-s with HBP

Hello All:
If anyone is in the East Bay of SFO and wants to take a close look at the S/C on an 04TL, I'm ready to meet up.
It should be fairly easy to compare the engine compartment of an 07TLS to that of my 04.
If the S/C fits, it's then just the issue of the ECU.
As we know, Comptech is still in business and they are still providing S/C. They are also doing some work with Hondata and both companies know that there is a market for the S/C.
Let's see if we can put this issue to bed.
Anyone who has an 07TLS can give me a call at 925 427-5197 to arrange a meeting.
Tim

I was at the RonJon meet this past sunday, a WDP s/c parked next to me and I popped my hood and took my engine cover off and the heads are 100% identical the only difference is the engine cover actually

well since excelerate has some s/c coming in I finally decided to send an email to boomslang to see if their 06 e-manage harness is compatible with the 07... if it isn't then I hope they will come up with one... and if they don't, I guess I will have to cut up my existing harness to begin to mess with the stock setup of the type s... if and when I pony up $4k I will then be ready to just drop in the s/c

uh, not to sound like an ass, but the It was concluded in a few other threads that the charger will fit, but we need to see if the transmission mount is in the same location as that is where the SC bolts on to for support. TO see the location for the J32, go to comptech's site and view the installation instructions for the SC.

since comptech USA is not picking up their phone, i had to call comptech authorized dealer and find out the supercharger fitment on TL-S. I called the technician in Acura of Glendale this morning. he says there's no problem installing on 3.5 engine.....might need a little more adjustments, but it will fit.

Just checked my email boomslang replied
As far as fitment I believe ACTROS was parked next to me at the ronjon meet and we compared teh 3.2 s/c to a 3.5 engine bay, fitment was not an issue whatsoever the only thing that was obviously in the way was the battery (which requires relocation for the s/c install)
Regarding the boomslang harness I will see if I can assist in getting a service manual to them or by taking pictures etc... I should be able to get a service manual though so this mission continues
I think the 2007 is unique. We don't have the 2007 TL service manual yet,
so we'll have to see.

I have car ADD

hey stillhere153.. i know alot of information on this, as i was putting a lot of thought into S/C blackura, and now i've been doing research on the J35a8 motor. Plus i spent like a good half hour on the phone with nate from comptech about a week ago or so....
the charger WILL fit right in, and bolt on to the car
comptechs ACM will not work with the J35. you may be able to 'ghetto rig' it, but you wont get the power you deserve. the ACMs are finely tuned for the J32 motor.
the boomslang harness is basically the best thing to do, for tuning and setting up the car if you decided to hook up the blower for the 04-06 TL's... but they dont have the info for the new UA7 type s.
comptech is currently finished the development of the S/C for the ridgeline, which is a 3.5L motor. i may be wrong, but i think its J35a5 or j35a6.. not sure...
once they have that done, they will have some good feedback on the ACM units for the Type S. they have been seeking out guinea pig cars local to them. They will also be developing a catback stainless exhaust, which should be ready for R&D in the fall, and sale in the winter/early spring.
if you plan on charging your car, i would WAIT for comptech to release it for the TL-S. you will end up spending more money on harness, emanage (only use the ultimate), and ALOT, and i mean ALOT of custom dyno tuning. The emanage doesnt have a base map for the J32 motor.. so there is no way in hell they have it for the J35a8. so you are going to have to start from scratch and keep testing and dyno'ing. can cost big $$
as for the mounting, the tls is a different subframe & tranny. if you look at the transmission mounting area on the 04+ TL, you will be able to get a definite answer on that. however, that (i may be wrong) is really just a support fitment, so you should be able to custom fab something even if it doesnt fit.
i hope i shed some light on this situation. definitely listen to what lookinco, actros, bluesap & ussi have to say about all this stuff. they know alot about blowers and shit.
my two cents. wait a couple months for comptech. they will probably have it done and ready in a year or less. might be worth the wait to do it right.

Werds I feel you, I honestly don't got the wattage in my pocket for custom jobs, but as long as comptech will release one, then that is the route I will go... Thanks for telling me that there is a good chance they will come out with one, I was starting to think I would have to custom my own, what a relief
