Stage 1 exhaust for the Corporate daily driver?

Hello! Unfortunately since I do drive professional people around I have to be selective with my sound producing modifications. I'd like to remove the mid muffler but I'm not exactly sure how loud it will be under normal driving. I've checked out you tube vids and it doesn't seem so bad but I'd like to see people's input.

I'd do it. As long as you have the stock cats in place it would be it pretty tame. Who knows, they might even like it! lol

I have my mid muffler removed, along with pre cat deletes, rv6 j-pipe, and resonated 3rd cat.

Most people wouldn't even notice the difference. I have not had any complaints.

It won't be loud enough to annoy anyone... I say do it

Just keep the muffler in case you ever decide to reverse the process ( which is unlikely )

Corporate daily? What company are you employed for? Did they provide you with the TL or does your company provide you with gas and stuff?

No one will notice. Even people that own TL's won't know.

I did the stage 3 (removed mid muffler and stock resonator- replaced with dynomax). Under 2.5K rpms, the change isn't noticeable. Even above that there's just a nice growl that's close to the G35's tone, just quieter. The only time its loud is when the car is cold and its dumping fuel in to heat up the cats. Then it has that 'bubbling' sound, but that clears up after a minute or two.

I would do it and enjoy it. I have seen a lot of videos on YouTube including factory G37X and FX35 exhausts. Stage 1 still won't be as loud as them. The dealer won't even know when you trade it in unless they look underneath.

Lol no its my personal car and I drive people around for my business. Its just not exactly business professional to drive around with a loud exhaust although I'd love to. When I get a toy car its a whole other story.

I'm considering the same, have you ran across this?

Removing Resonator on Stock exhaust (Summary Post #1 & #1811) - AcuraZine Community

There's a lot of helpful information there if you haven't.

I'd def recommend if you want something just a little louder. I was on the verge of getting stage 3 or 4 and met up with another Aziner with stage 4 and it's nice and not nearly as loud as one thinks. Stage 1 for the corporate commuter!

I was thinking the same thing. I wanted something with a better exhaust note but didn't want it to be overly noticeable. I did the stage 1 and it's nice, not too loud but really only noticeable between 2-3k. I'm not sure I'd go to stage 2, maybe I'll find a stage 1.5 and let you guys know how it sounds.

You should do a combo of High Flow Precats and Jpipe (RV6). This is the first mod I did and you will have a nicer sound than hacking your exhaust up and bonus, MORE POWER! No smell with the HFPC's either. I take doctors in my car and I have the same setup WITH a Catback and for the most part they love it.

All I did on my '08 was install an AEM V2 intake, and did the mid-muffler delete - replaced with straight pipe. It was only 40 or 45 bucks and took the muffler shop about a half hour.

The car sounds phenomenal and throaty when accelerating hard, but quiet as a mouse cruising down the highway, which is exactly what I wanted. I couldn't have it sounding ridiculous all the time - I'm 38, work at an ad agency, and sometimes have clients in the car. It was integral that it have a "quiet mode" as well, or I couldn't have done it.

Like everyone has said you'll be fine with the stage 1.The stock exhaust note is very very subtle and almost hard to hear when not opening up the throttle. The stage 1 actually does increase the exhaust loudness quite a bit--I don't know why everyone is saying it doesn't. The exhaust note is clearly audible even when not opening up the throttle with the stage 1 mod (as opposed to the nearly silent stock note). However, it's still at a classy level of "purrrrrrr" and the difference is not noticeable in the cabin. I can tell the difference when i'm outside the car, though.

However, I would disagree with most everyone else and I do NOT recommend you do the stage 3 exhaust (dynomax resonator + removed 3rd muffler) if you are using your car for business. The stage 3 is substantially louder than a stage 1 and the exhaust sound is noticeable in the cabin. I would describe it as a little "roar." It's boarder line professional, but I personally wouldn't prefer to drive my clients/boss around with it.

I had the stage 1 exhaust mod for a few months, then I wanted more and I did the stage 3. I remember the differences between stock, stage 1, and stage 3 quite clearly; and from my experience the sound levels were noticeably different. I don't know why other members on here are saying that they are not.

With that said I love my stage 3 mod. I believe it has the most civil-aggressive level of loudness in it and I am actually quite sad that I will be going louder. I've had the stage 3 mod for about three years now and I've never regretted doing it. I do not, however, think that it is business appropriate.

I've had the mid muffler deleted for about a month now and I love it. It's not super loud, perfect sound.

You can do stage 3 dynomax resonator..mid muffler delete,

It's like a infinity exhaust...identical in my opinion....not loud...but noticeable if you push it!

Dos any one know how much the stage 2 magna flow resonator and midmuffler delete labor cost? Does it cause power loss/decrease in back pressure? Really considering this.

^^ I know you won't lose any power. If you were not gonna have people in the car I'd say delete all 3 mufflers, I did it the other day and I think it sounds great IMHO.

should be around $100....depends on the shop....the shop which build my custom exhaust wanted $450 to just switch 1 muffler....only labor

told him to GTFO....he eventually did it for $150 labor
