I know the deposit is $200...but what is the final cost of this exhaust?!?!
Also, have to add a type S rear lip, right!?!?! To accomodate the dual tips?!?!

I have to admit, i hadn't seen that thread you linked...it does sound superb and the rasp seems gone.

^^^ Yes....you will need the Type S lip in lieu of the Base Aspec Lip....

and for the exhaust I believe it was 1400 or something like that (dont quote me on this)....so you pay the deposit and then pay the remaining $$$

EDIT:

its on the first post lol.

As for pricing the second batch of the RV6 True Dual exhaust Type-S Quads will be offered at $1450 + shipping. There will be no discount with combo purchases. This is a very expensive system to manufacture. On our last attempt we ended up not breaking even.

Batch 2 will contain 15-20 exhaust systems. We will start collecting $200 deposits now from those that are serious about purchasing this exhaust. The estimated time of completion will be late April or early May. We will keep everyone updated on Acurazine and the FAQ section of our site.

he started taking pre orders in January 2012 with the intent of having the exhaust produced by late April early may of 2012. so around a 5-6 month turn around time from initial pre order.

If I'm not wrong, this is the second batch (see thread title). I think Richie is based in Chicago.

We have to get the list updated. We are waiting on some money orders to clear and need to remove the people that backed out. I believe we are going to cap batch one at ~25 in case we reject any components.

As for progress everything is looking great. The design has been finalized and the welding fixtures are almost complete. I just issued a PO on the bends for the first 15 sets. We are currently sourcing more tubing, 304 stainless in 2.25" isn't really a industry standard. So far we have only found one US based mill that produces material that bends smoothly.

We will have some pictures up soon. It has been very busy around here. We just added our first employee.

Nice update, Richie, thank you.
Any idea on those unique base tips you were looking to source?! I think there's a huge demographic of people that would want that option...our only other choices are huge round or the obtuse ATLP base.

J.

Also, how much of that 25 person order are you at?

Wish I could have gone to the meet.

And this is batch 1 of the V2's

BostonSilverTypeS was referring to the very first batch last year or so that got these started. Which mine is holding up fine and sounds very nice.

If you are riding the fence on getting these I say do it if you can afford it..

Can afford and should afford are miles apart unfortunately...it's a gorgeous exhaust, but the idea that I have to spend another $300 on a lip to make it work makes the idea daunting.

Anil...lol, now THERE IS SOME MOTIVATION! You're too much, dude.

i would love to see an updated list because i put down my deposit few days ago, and i dunno if im on the first batch of exhausts going out. If im not then i need to go ahead and order a resonator and weld it on for import alliance next month to kill the rasp til the exhaust comes in.

does this mean 15 exhaust systems will go out then the other 10 will get sent once you finish making them or are all 25 being made at the same time

Knowing Richie if you are on list then 99% you will get them.

60% of the time it works all the time haha.

Rockstar:
Can afford and should afford are miles apart unfortunately...it's a gorgeous exhaust, but the idea that I have to spend another $300 on a lip to make it work makes the idea daunting.

That is part of the cost unfortuantely so if you can't you can't unfortunately. Not saying you can't. But for the RV6 that is part of the process for now apparently. While I have the 1st TDE and love it there are other exhausts out there that are also justified.

To me the RV6 is / was bragging rights of having it and that it sounds awesome coupled with his other products

I would do it again if needed to. But I didn't need a lip.

And I am not being a dick in saying that.

I didn't get that from what you said, either.
Yeah, I know what you mean...other than the normal 4" round tips, ATLP is the only one that makes a base tip and to be honest, I'm not a fan. ALL others have the quad tips that require the type s lip.

Soundwise, the RV6 seems to be a cut above, so I'd truly be interested in it...some things to think about. I guess more of them have to be sold so that some will enter the "used" market eventually!

That said, I'm VERY curious to see what kind of base tip Richie will make to flow properly with the base (aspec) opening. Since his work is top notch, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being the nicest option for us base guys. Aside from needing the type s lip, I actually would prefer to NOT have that lip, I like to keep my aspec all original 2004 (the kit).

J.

After what he said, can't be too out of line. Probably wouldn't say it to his face either...everyone is so tough on the phone or internet.

Anyway, on a ON topic note...Richie, when are you going to plan your "next" batch for production?
