RV6 PCD, RV6 j-pipe, electric cutout

have pcd, and the longtube jpipe, and just put in an electric cutout today. the car is insanely loud when cut out is open, it really only sounds good when youre fully into it or in vtec rpm "cruising." other than that it sounds terrible when part throttle accelerating, idle does sound very deep and good though. this is informative for anyone whose wanting this setup

Any videos or sound clips comparing open and closed cut-out?

dumping anywhere near the heads will result in HORRIBLE sound.

for example, if you just leave the jpipe unbolted; you would have found out how it would sound without adding the cutout

i put it right after the jpipe before the resonator for a reason. 1. It fit perfect there 2. i got a cutout so i could be loud or quiet depending on what i wanted so i didnt want to put it behind any of those power robbing mufflers or the whole point of a cutout is pretty much worthless

Putting it after the Jpipe collector is the perfect place for the cutout. Get a video! I'm looking to do the same thing.

OMG. I like the dash video, the car is screaming louder than a exotic car, and when you floor it the speedo barely moves hahaha
I would say let's do everyone a favor and just leave that thing closed :-P

Why is there animosity towards cutouts? Having the option to go from 'Mild to Wild' at the flick of a switch is a nice alternative to constantly driving around with an exhaust. For those of us staying away from PCDs, a nice catback & Jpipe should sound relatively mellow. Once you add PCDs a free flowing catback can get obnoxious at times, which makes a cutout an attractive option. At least that's my reasoning

I'm not putting any "body work" into my car. Or wheels, or suspension. I need ride height because I live in stlouis and I still need to be able to drive in the snow, and gravel when I go to my cabin. Body work is pointless aka body kits. I don't need wheels and tires because I have brand new all seasons that I'm not going to waste. And I like the way my wheels look on my car. I'm thinking about buying a project car that would be something worth putting all that Into. But as it is right now I get 31mpg highway, I'm reliable, everything is functional (aka I have clearance). This is the extent of everything I have planned for my car. You're welch for biting the bullet and posting videos on the electric cutout for those of you who want to choose if you'd want one or not depending on your PREFERENCE.

I would put a 100 wet shot on it for 700$ and love to see you burn a lot of cars out there.
