you know you could have asked this in your existing thread...https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/2005-tl-horsepower-improvement-suggestions-820559/

pros
-gain about 15 horses.
cons
- the price tag.

there are no sensors on the third cat, which the rv6 v3 jpipe gets rid of. no sensors = no Check engine lights.
the third cat is in place in order to get the ULEV II rating.
the two primary cats are the main ones that take care of emissions.

install - devote a whole day for it. The concept/planning is simple.. take off 9 bolts. 3 to the front cat, 3 to the rear cat and 3 connecting it to the rest of the exhaust.
the hard part is taking off the stock jpipe, as road conditions and heat from the exhaust seize the bolts. I used jack stands and a breakerbar.
whereas others used a lift and a torch.

Like i told you in your other thread, the rv6 v3 jpipe was my first mod. 3rd gear pulls are amazing.

we also have a search function, if you search you could have found all the info that you needed. but it basically echo's what I said above.

it nets around 15whp and is part of the exhaust system.

it was my first mod, I loved the gains. I'm getting greedy tho, I just installed Pre-cat-deletes, when I told my self I wouldnt do PCD's

searching is also better done when you type what you wanna search into google search and just adding acurazine on the end.

if u have a warranty issue you can take it off and put on ur stock one

but the dealership cant void your warranty unless they have SOLID proof that the part you bought was a direct cause to any problems you are having

Hmm I had the same question about smog, will this pass California smog? I asked somebody who said this removes the catalytic converter which would not pass smog.

it will not pass a visual test as there is no longer a third cat, more than likely will pass the sniffer

2nd: And isnt there only one catalytic converter on the TL exhast? why did you tell me to"tell your dat that the 3rd cat has gone bad"?

there really isnt that much bottle necking going on. replace just one piece of the exhaust, and you gain.
As you can see the v3 gets has longer primaries and gets rid of the 3rd cat.
I had the jpipe for a year and def. enjoyed it.
I just added PCD's and I achieved what I wanted out of the car.
I always hated 1st and 2nd gear. very squirrely, like a high revving engine should be. Now, With the pcd's and jpipe the power delivery is very smooth.
I enjoy driving normal at 2k rpm. next up, is a catback exhaust, and I expect the same: a little moar power and for it to keep smoothing out the power band.

I was just giving you an excuse to tell your dad to get you the jpipe.
We have three cats altogether. 2 primaries; which take care of emissions, and a third cat.
the third cat is in place to achieve ULEV or Ultra Low Emission Vehicle.

With that being said, removing the third cat will not affect emissions. (depending on one's State)
*disclaimer: it is illegal to remove any kind of catalytic converter from a vehicle.

if this is an illegal modification, then how do you pass smog tests? thats really the only issue I have with the rv6 v3, the ATLP v2 however claims to be smog legal.

removing any catalytic converter is an illegal act.
these mods are intended for "off road use"

depending on your state, you can pass emissions.
I'm positive the jpipe will pass sniff testing and the OBDII check, as it will not throw a CEL.
I feel like a broken record.

Ive explained it 50 billion times to you.
do you not understand?

?? the smog test is the only thing holding me back from getting the rv6, otherwise im going to have to go with the ATLP. I cannot get it unless its legal; you never said if its legal or not

^you havent stated what state you're in.
I have said, that if your state does sniffer and OBDII check, you'll pass.
Please, read carefully and comprehend.

It might seem like I'm swaying you to buy the rv6.
