Richard Wong's (RV6-P) V3 High Flow Cat Convt. LOTS OF PICS
Many of you might of heard of the v3 hfpc. it is one of a kind only sold through richard wong at rv6performance.com. he is a good guy somewhat. he promises stuff and keep his word. Iam not here to throw richard wong under the bus. but as a consumer i feel like i have the right to say whatever i want.
I had the v3 jpipe but i wasnt happy with what it produced. it lagged a little. i didnt feel any increase but it did get louder. low end to top end felt slower than stock.
i couldnt believe it myself and i told myself this was designed for the 3.2L and not the Smodel. I sold it to somebody with the 3.2l and he was more than happy to buy it from me.
Back to the hfpc.
The outlet on this is pretty big. it may loose a lot of lowend power but gain a lot of top end. i dunt know about you guys but i love my low my lowend pwr/tq. hfpc is like 2 1/4 inch and o.e is 1.75. (oe have a superior design)

the durability of the HFPC look solid. look like good strenght. this is not verified. it is a judgment made by a tech. the thermal coat will add some life and look to cat. i dont know how long this will last but it will hopefully still last multiple years. this cat is shield-less but it will keep the engine temps down up to 70degrees.

now to the magnaflow core. Magna flow is a very GOOD company. Very Top Tier. Very Dependable. I would rate this a 9/10 because of there volume of sales and listing of replacement parts. here are the quality and craftsmanship of the magna flow cat richard wong uses

the core of a o.e cat made by sankei of japan . Very Superior in the life of the cat.

my opinions are just my own to share. i bought these and i forgot that it is illegal in California
but i wish i felt more comforable using it / it may go back to richard

I like the comparison, but I really don't like you using "Richard Wong" when you talk about richie. Makes me seem like his in trouble. Just like when I was a kid and I did something wrong my mom would call out my full name.
Anyways, Thank you for the diameter measurements and the pictures of the core. I really wished someone would make a pre-cat that can use the OEM heatsheld that way use CA people can pass visually. Also for the outer diameter. Most j-pipe use a 2.25in inlet. So its probably designed most towards those application.

I call him by his full name like a professional.
your welcome, i knew i had to post pics of this. very hard to find a pic of a hfpc core for potential customers.
Yet another "awesome" posting by DingDong_Dav......I also ask what is your point here?
Rich has been great with me and my car and his parts have never failed me on or off track. People who don't know the OP's somewhat colorful history here on AZ should really take anything he says a huge grain of salt.......

Just a quick pointer....
With enlarged exhaust components such as cats in question, you don't actually lose low end. The power band moves up higher, thus resulting in that top end gain, where power would normally fall, it fills instead. no exhaust restrictions=power. Except in a turbo application, where you need some backpressure to help spool quicker and lower in the rpm band.
You want power? Ride open heads! ...now I know that's a bit extreme, but hey...you get the point...
on that note...I had to edit, only to say HI back to Justnspace

KK, I'd be almost certain anyone would notice a difference from mid-high end. This was my first perf mod and I compared immediately before and after and can't imagine anyone's butt not notice a diffference lol. Wonder if you're the first to notice nothing...
you'll quickly realize somethings a matter with Ding_dong. (props vill)
This low end-high end thing has been discussed so many times in almost every exhaust thread, that generations to come would have enough info about it to blow their heads up...so, really no point in starting another debate. Searching "exhaust" in here would give you results of a mini-google. Right up there with CAI
my complete honest answer. no i didnt feel anything. i sold it 1 week later. but the hfpc, i doubt any lowend gain but good highend. very very good highend. *my previous post are my own to share, i have rv6 products and thats nuff said...

its like trying to shove a square block into the octagon space.
and with jpipe and pcds, I gained at lower RPMS. not as much as the high end, but 2k RPM is much much more comfortable!!!
i felt a lot of gain with the HFPCs (low and high) and that was before i installed the supercharger.
thanks for the great product richie!
btw richie also sent me some extra RV6-P decals to throw on my car when i asked for some; just another reason he's an awesome vendor
