Replacing piping

Hey i was just curious and have been contemplating this for a while but cant we just replace all the piping going from the resonator back to the mufflers with 2.5 in piping??? I have a type s so im not sure if the piping is already that big or a lil smaller? also since i have the type s i wouldnt change my mufflers sooo i would only get a magnaflow resonator and change catback piping n e thoughts???

i got 2.5 from the third cat all the way back to the mufflers. the muffler inlet pipes are 2.5 on my setup. all mandrel bends. i'm using apex'1 ws2 mufflers. real quiet. very subtle until you rev it...
