Race Pipe on stock Jpipe?

Mods can move this if needed.

I'm just wondering if anyone has installed the race pipe on the stock jpipe? More specifically, the ATLP race pipe onto the stock jpipe. Reason I'm considering this, and not buying the whole ATLP Jpipe/race pipe combo. Is because my gf is buying me the Jpipe for my bday in July so I HAVE to wait till then . I want my ATLP base exhaust a little louder, so I'd figure I'd get rid of that third cat, just till I get the new Jpipe.

do it.
BUTT
if you're gf is getting you a jpipe, why not go for RV6? it deletes the 3rd cat.
no need for a race pipe.

but really your question does not make sense, or you dont know what you want. Making your question hard to answer.

There are a billion ways of skinning a cat.
there is no right or wrong way. but there is always a more efficient way.

I've had the RV6 V3 and sold it because it was way to raspy for me.

I'm set on the ATLP V2 jpipe, just want to know if anyone has done this just for a "temporary" till I get the jpipe. I can't remember if the cat is part of the stock jpipe, or if it's able to be taken off and the race pipe to replace it.

^it disconnects from the factory jpipe.

I couldnt get the bolts off of the cat connecting to the jpipe, so i left it on. and just took out the stock jpipe with the cat connected.

you know you could have solved rasp by adding a resonator.

and also, you're just replacing the cat with a straight pipe...its not like something that HASNT been done before.

Yeah I thought about that too. I didn't want to hack up the exhaust just incase I decided to sell it down the road. Some people get picky about that kind of stuff.

Race pipe only is a waste of time, imho. I don't think you'll get anything from it; at least not anything you couldn't wait for.

Just get 'em both together (since you're set on ATLP). Maybe save a few bucks on shipping.

Richies V3 sure is a nice looking bit of kit, innit?

I wouldnt say its a waste of time at all. your planning to get the J-Pipe so why not. Not everyone has to do the mods all at once. When i first bought my TL i had no plans to do anything so i did the 3rd cat delete and 1st muffler delete to make it sound better and it sounded great. I say just do it.

Endles: Do some searching and dont thread jack!

EXLR8-Jpipe
ATLP- Jpipe
RV6- Jpipe

PCD's (Pre Cat Deletes)
RV6- PCD
