Hey guys I just got a '05 TL 6-Speed and wanted to see if anyone has fit quad tips on a base bumper. I don't feel like going out and buying the a-spec lip for the rear. Let me know if you have done this without cutting and where you got them. Thanks

 

I don't think so. I have quads ( ATLP exhaust system ) and they fit pretty tight in the type-s bumper opening, which I think is as big as the A spec. If I remember correctly the type-s and A spec bumper openings are almost twice as big as the base.

Alright, I didn't think so, but I figured its worth asking. I came across a company called SoCal and they offer a couple different styles that look good and one I think might fit. The overall width is 5.4" and I just measured my exhaust space and it is 7"... but that doesn't seem right. Thanks for the reply!

 

2 x 2.5" is pretty much the biggest you can fit. Which people complain about looking too small. If you want the quad look you need a quad bumper.

 

Yes, you can fit quad tips on a base bumper with or without the a-spec lip. I had the SoCal Autosports exhaust tips on my car and they fit. I just had them taken off and sold them.

I saw a couple pictures with the 2.5" and it didnt look to bad its definitely better then my stock. And @TheMachine your the thread I saw that at lol they looked good. Would the ones you sold fit on a base bumper?

 

I answered that question in my last reply, LOL! Obviously the ones I sold will fit the base bumper. My TL is a Base model with the A-Spec lip kit installed on it, which actually makes the exhaust cut out a little bit smaller due to the grey pieces attached to the lip.

If you want quad tips nottingham, go with an RV6 true dual exhaust and a Type-S bumper! worth every penny
