I am confused what ur plans are jo... you were supposed to paint the flat area white, apply the stencil, then spray it all red.... unless you will be placing the stencil under the clear coat... which would also be perfect

The method you're using sounds fine, but for anyone in the future, it might actually be easier if you're putting lighter letter on a darker background (ie white letters on black calipers) to paint the caliper white with a few coats, then stick the letters on, then paint black a few coats, then peel the letters off and you'll have white letters on black calipers. Sometimes, painting white letters on a black or red base coat can come out with the letters being a tad tinted or dingy. You should layer darker colors on lighter colors. Lets say you're doing black letters on yellow calipers, then you'd definatly paint the yellow first, and make a stencil for the black.
I've never painted brake calipers though, just other things. I'm not saying my way is the right way, it's just another way.
That aside, looks sick! I want Brembos!
