In 34F weather so its raspy. Will probably replace my race pipe with a high flow cat... damn this cold weather!

Oh... excuse my mother
comptechs own! but seriously, a high flow cat and a 20' resonator is definetly needed. i was comparing your sound clip vid with mine and the tone is there, you just have to get rid of the rasp.

again, i honestly dont see how some of you think that kind of raspiness sounds good, expecially for a car like a TL that thing has some crazy rasp especially when the throttle is let off. leave that stuff for the civics and whatnot.

we both basically have the same setup. comptech catback still w/ midmuffler , precat deletes and jpipe. the only difference is im using my hiflow procat instead of the test pipe and a 20' SS magnaflow resonator. now i have ZERO rasp with a nice throaty-aggressive-burbly sound IMO, these 2 mods are the key in giving you the sound i believe your trying to achieve

A high flow cat should be in next week. I've been wanting one ever since the deletes were installed. I'm not sure where you live but that video was taken when the air temperature was cool. In warmer weather, say mid 40s-50s, the rasp isn't as prominent. Also, I don't seem to hear the rasp when I'm actually driving (when theres a load on the engine)... only when I rev with no load. I agree -- when I let off the throttle, I wanna strangle someone because it should so . Anyway, I don't want to chop up the CT catback so I won't be getting another resonator welded in. I might explore some other options but I doubt theres a lot out there.

Yeah it came back on... had the Acura tech read it... P0240 I think the code was due to missing precats.

He reset it using the OBD port

^ No not necessarily. I already spoke to Richie and this has happened before. His solution is smaller defoulers. When I get them on, I will report back in this thread to see if they remedy the CEL.

In the meantime, the CEL doesn't have any negative impacts on our cars.... its just annoying as hell to see it

The smaller defoulers should fix the problem I will make up a few sets next week. I need to order some from autozone. For some odd reason only TLs are having this problem and not all of them. Stillhere153 and type-s09 have the same car and same exhaust setup but only Stillhere153 had a problem which the smaller defouler fixed.

maurice hit me up when you get the new defoulers, takes like 10mins to do it and does not require removal of the jpipe

Not yet. Richie said he was gonna make some today but I haven't followed up with him yet.

Eric, CEL issues.

Maurice, is your car pretty loud in low RPMs?

ahh i wouldnt say its loud only bc i running a stage 3 exhaust. But i will say i do have drone but i wonder if thats bc i still have my stock 3rd cat or mostly bc of the dyno max resonator?maybe both?

but the car does have a nice tone to it stillhere153 thinks its not loud enough but i like it jst alittle to much drone with this set up?

prob switch it up with the areo res?

and richie said the same thing too i ll prob pm him and see whats up?

Yeah I'm going to try a high flow cat out soon.. well, once Richie finds the time to make me one <- trying to tone down the drone and rasp.

Waiting on my defoulers too but I feel bad asking Richie since he's really busy with the J pipes....

Defoulers and RV6 high flow cat is in!

Maurice, I saw yours too. Hopefully you'll get them soon. So far, nothing but its only been like 20 miles.

HFC feels good. Low end tq has been rescued a bit more. While revving with no load, its not as raspy when I left off the throttle but its still there a bit. Seems like a good mod if you're running the precat deletes.

Nah I cruise controled at ~80MPH on the way home... didn't take her above 100 yet.

I think my exhaust tone is even deeper now with the HFC. Can't wait to see if it changes the smell

Steady state cruise is where problems with the 02s usually show up.

Well, duh! Haha I've reset the CEL by disconnecting the battery and using the ODBII port.

I hope these smaller defoulers do the trick. So far, so good

Like I said before, CC'd for about 20 miles with no issues thus far. Don't really get to use CC on weekdays... oh well, if the CEL wants to come on, I don't think it needs CC
