Poly filled transmission mounts

I bought new lower transmission mounts since the old ones are both broken.

The polyurethane that is used on the oem mounts feels a little softer then a 60a innovative bushing. Im basing this on much I can push in the poly with my finger.

Im thinking about wrapping the mount and filling with a higher strength polyurethane. Has anyone done this?

Heres the mounts. You can see that you can make solid square mold around the poly that is already in there. Is this even worth to do?

I guess I would go with 80a

I believe that it is advantageous for all the mounts to be of similar durometer. If one or two mounts are of increased durometer, any vibrations are directed to the softer mounts and will cause them to break/tear prematurely.

Good point. I have a new upper transmission mount already installed a few months ago. If Im going to poly fill the lower ones then I might as well fill the top one also.

I have heard of people putting 3M window weld to stiffin them up. Now sure how it would be for tranny mounts though.

I used the 3M window stuff in my civic mounts back in the day, really made the car vibrate but did what it needed to!

I think for now Im going to put the new oem mounts on the car without poly filling them. If they break again then Ill fill them. Im still on the original trans mounts from 04.
