A noob question about CAI..

I see people are saying if water gets to the CAI and engine hydrolocks, I will be screwed

My questions are:
1. What parts of CAI can't get wet? the filter? or?
2. Why do we need to worry about water for the customized CAI but not the stock one? Is there a guard for the stock one?
3. Does the AEM CAI come with a filter? Will the dealer help us to change the filter for the customized CAI when it's about time to replace it?

Thanks for any reply
forgive me being noobish

1. The part that can get wet is the filter becuase it sits right behind your bumper down by your wheel well.

2. The stock intake the filter is not exposed. The filter is up in your engine bay. So yes, the stock filter is guarded.

3. AEM comes with a filter. I am sure the dealer would help you replace the filter.

to add on to coop....

2. Even the stock intake is prone to sucking in water. I've heard of a 3rd gen TL going through a puddle as high as the doors and hydrolocking.

3. AEM comes with a reusable filter. You don't need to have the dealer replace it. you can buy the K&N filter oil and follow the directions to clean the filter.
