Newb question about pulleys and power steering
So recently I bought a 2006 TL MT and started reading this forum.
I see that a UR pulley is one of the more often mentioned mods that can add some power to the car. I researched it a bit and came across an article that warns about loss of power steering at idle with larger pulleys. It's exactly what I'm experiencing in my car. I take it's possible that the previous owner had it done. How can I tell if the pulley is not original?
If it's been modded, what can I do to gain some power steering at idle? It's sometimes awkward to park the car in tight spaces.
If it hasn't been modded , what could be the cause of stiff steering at idle? (The PS hose has been changed as per the recall.)

The amount of underdrive of the accessories with the Ultra S underdrive pulley from UR is very minimal. I highly doubt it is the cause of your issue. But if you want to know if you have a pulley just follow the serpentine belt to the large pulley at hte bottom of your motor and see if it's polished or dark in color. If it's dark in color it's the factory pulley.
