Need Some Quick Help Please

I am putting my stock cat back on to go and pass my state inspection. The problem is I forgot which end goes towards the engine and which one points to the back of the car
The pictures show the two openings...

Opening #1(I think this one goes towards the engine, but am not 100% certain)

Opening #2

Thanks for any help you may be able to give!
