Need Help CT Engineeering Supercharger on 08 TL

Installing a CT Engineering supercharger on a 08 TL automatic ran into 2 problems

1) The battery box hits the shifter linkage and its still not all the way in place has everyone had this problem before

2) The blower brace support to the upper trans lift bracket, not sure if the car is missing the bracket or I am just looking in the wrong area

any help is greatly appreciated
thanks
Al

a quick google search and you'll find most people recommended moving the battery to the trunk

Trust me I googled it, I want to know why the battery tray does not even fit? It's not even close to fitting in there has noting to do with running a small battery or all the b/s to change it if it dies,

Even if I relocate the battery to the trunk still have the problem with the trans support bracket to supercharger bracket not working out

Comptech's website says the supercharger is for 04 - 08 TLs, but I wonder if everything was designed around the 04 - 06 before the transmissions changed? I know the bellhousings are different on 04-06 vs 07-08 so that may be why the battery tray doesn't fit? I think that is one of those, you're better off moving it to the trunk anyways. Did you get the kit second hand? If you bought it brand new, and you can deal with the loss of A/C, I'd try and return it and get Gerzand's Rotrex kit. Priced around the same as Comptech but LOTS more power and more reliable. Please, whatever you do, don't run the ACM...

Off the Comptech website

Kit fits both Automatic and 6-Speed 04-08 Acura TL.

Uses an Eaton MP62 gen5 like older kit but has a shorter drive snout than earlier TL/CL/Accord kits.

Boost is 4-5 psi. Gains for Auto are approximately 60hp; 6-Speed is approximately 65hp @ the wheels.

Blower does have signature whine when in boost above 4,000RPM.

Kit includes everything to bolt on, except the new battery. Customer needs to buy Interstate MT 51R or equivalent battery. This battery is physically smaller but has better spec’s than the stock battery.

Kit will come with CT Engineering's new ACM (Advanced Control Module) to add fuel in boost, lower VTEC (RPM to 4000 from 4800), and clamp MAP sensor voltage (@3.0 volts). ACM will come with jumper harness for the majority of its connections, but you will have to cut and solder 4 wires.

CARB approved through 2008.
So are you trying to install your OEM sized battery in the tray? or do you have a MT 51R sized battery and it's still not fitting?

Just move the battery to the trunk. It's rather easy because there's already a hole to through the firewall to route the positive wire through. It's not going to fit under the blower.
The trans lift bracket is def. there, it's that hook/loop looking thing right on top/middle of the trans. The bolt isn't going to fit snug and perfect in there so dont be looking for a screw hole or anything. It's just a metal loop. Kinda near the shift linkage.

Just move the battery to the trunk while your still at it, wish someone would of told me that in the beginning. If you plan on still running a sound system & gauges I'd recommend moving the battery to the trunk. The smaller battery I had couldn't keep up, every time I had to jump my car. Its just better to have the original size battery or larger, you may never know you may run into the infamous parasitic draw from the HFL. Eventually I had to reroute my battery to the trunk, but that was after I installed my SC. I had to pull my SC out just to take out the battery & reroute it. Like they said, just do it now to prevent any headaches.

Looks like from the other thread that there are more issues than just the battery tray. At least Comptech is now acknowledging that their supercharger was developed long before the 07/08 stuff came out and that they aren't compatible. I'm betting it's just the autos though.

I think the 07 up trans shifter selector is diffrent ! and by the looks of your pic you aint getting the battery in there.

Im putting the battery in the trunk i got 21 ft of 4gu and you just hook it direct to the battery then run a 8gu from the starter to the fuse box and you are done. Make sure you toss a fuse at the battery in the trunk tho

Looking at your pictures your shift linkages are placed in a different place than my 6spd. Mine are basically on top of the trans, it looks like yours are on the front side of the trans. I guess that means you'll also run into the starter issue.
