My opinion on hondata

I just installed Hondata on my 07 type s 6MT, the car has almost 190k and still preforms like a champ! I dont beat on the car to much but have a spirited drive every once and a while. I have a buddy that works at acura as a master tech and I had my check engine light come on intermitintly for code P2647 (VTEC Oil Pressure Switch Circuit High Voltage) we were running tests and had replaced the switch itself about 7 months ago and we narrowed it down that it was a bad driver in the PCM. He recommended that I look into getting Hondata and I was going back and fourth on it for a few weeks then I bit bullet and purchased it. as I was waiting for it to arrive I was browsing around craigslist and found a full tsudo exhaust with the cat deletes and got it for a great deal. spent half a day installing it and then drove it without tuning it then I uploaded hondata and loaded one of the generic tunes it had, and changed the oil pressure switch test to OFF and after driving it the car felt incredible and sounded pretty good too, it was a little confusing at first on how to set up the calibration but after that and navigating through the software I was starting to notice how user friendly it is. If you are debating on getting Hondata for any reason I HIGHLY recommend getting it. Hondata was worth every penny and look forward to eventually getting a full custom tune on the car. I will update if anything with my car comes up on my car due to Hondata wether it be good or bad

small video clip of what exhaust sounds like with cat deletes, intake and the tune attached

There is a member here who also is very fond of Hondata. You should talk to him about tuning, he may have some advice.

His member name is DomGSR-T.

Dom is the man. He can custom tune your car over email for pretty cheap and it’s a lifetime tune meaning he will update your tune if you add performance. Let dom tune it and it will really feel good

Is Dom still tuning for members on here? I've thought about pulling the trigger on Hondata especially after Rockstar/J's review of his experience with it. I would love to get it to drive at least better than just ok without the annoyances of rev-hang and other minor peeves.

Dom is still tuning! Does a great job. My car is running like a champ with the Comptech signature whine!

Very nice and helpful person. Recommended

Hondata is a great product, worth ever penny. In stock form our TLs have rev hang and ride lean at low rpm with light throttle: Hondata improves the drivability of our cars.

Question later, why you didn’t sooner.....

If I could, I’d do it stock in a heartbeat. I’ve only driven a modified 6MT TL with Hondata, but if I was 6MT or ‘07-‘08 I’d do it ASAP!

Also I’d be contacting Dom if I could do it.......

better driveability - all mods/car works together very well

i was one of the first TL owners to have flashpro way back when and that was super rough going through tens and tens of datalogs/calibrations (I think i've done around 100-130), but now that it's been around and that dom is in the picture, it only takes 5-10 datalogs to get your car running amazing. i would also do it again even if stock, it makes the car behave that much better!

whenever i have to get my smog test done, i have to convert back to the stock map and every time i absolutely hate the way the car drives without a tune haha

long story short...do it!! (if you have 6mt or 07-08...no solution for 04-06 AT)

I've been tuned for 4.5 years now, love it, worth every penny. Mines a DD and haven't had one issue.

It's hard to convince people that haven't had a custom tune before to make the leap, but once they do, you don't hear them say it wasn't worth it. VTEC dip gains can be around 20WHP .

I also run Hondata in my Integra with the S300, works great.

Dom tuned my car while I was living out in the midwest. When I moved closer down to sea level he offered to re-tune for no charge. From start to finish, his work was very noticeable. I highly recommend this man.
