Damn, I've had my TL for damn near 3 years and just now thought to look for a forum for it...

This thread is sweet though, I've always kinda wanted my exhaust to sound a little deeper...I may just have to start callin' some local muffler shops!

What exactly does this achieve as far as sound on a Type S with stock exhaust? And if I did do this would it screw me over with any mods in the future or my warranty?

Just deleted the mid-muffler and resonator and damm!! I love the sound! It's awesome with a lil bit of a raspy sound...i guess kinda like M3?? and it also has more of a deeper sound in the low RPM's.. the entire job cost me $70, which includes buying the pipe to weld in place of mid muffler and resonator. Honesty the best $70 I could spend on my car!!!!

If you havent' done it, you have to!!!

i was actually going to ask if anyone has removed BOTH the mid muffler and the resonator and replaced it with straight pipe if so, what's the sound difference. i was going to do the mid muffler delete first BUT i may do them both at the same time.

05TL*6-SPEED* where did you have your work done, i may go to the same place.

Text me on my cell today after 4:30pm or give me a call, the place is off independence blvd just a mile or two past indian trail. I had a real nice guy do it for me, the shop looks like crap from the outside but it's the work that counts. My cell is 315-256-6901...we can meet up and you can see how it sounds, I'm loving it and no disappointment

1fsthatch, i've been reading through like 13 pages of info on the ATLP exhaust and so far what i've learned is that the exhaust is in the process of being made?? is that the case?

thanks for your help!

So I got the Dynomax WLK-24215 resonator put in yesterday, I didnt realize its a inch or so shorter than the stock one, so the shop had to extend it with a pipe piece.... but anyway got it tig welded in there so I guess I run a stage 3 set up now. Sound is definitively more rumbly between 2-4K rpms, no drone, just a nice deep sound, ( but nothing near a G35 that everyones is talking about..) I was actually surprised it wasnt louder!! If you thinking abt this mod, do it, its worth the money!

yea atlp makes things little by little and they dont go crazy with production so they're left in debt.... they wait til they have a bunch of customers on the list and then they get the stuff out. if you want it that bad...... check the blackmarket but i dont think itll be easy to find.... the atlp kit comes with sick pipe from the cat back i believe and then you can add the j pipe which is sick....i found that sucker used and the power it opens up is great plus it gets rid of drone noise which was driving me NUTS after i cut out the resonators.
