Love my mods!!

I was traveling along the PA turnpike today and decided to have a little fun with my Type S. I was going about 75 and down sifted into 4th and mashed the accelerator...I was blown away how quickly the car accelerated to over 100mph!! I was also impressed by the smoothness and control at those speeds! I fell in love with my car all over again!

I'm fairly new to all of this. Can you elaborate on the torque converter lock up? I'm assuming that's a good thing from your post, so what does that exactly do? Thanks!

P.S. - sorry to hijack your thread

Uhh.....I don't think having your torque converter locking up at 90 MPH is a good thing. Hence, the "tomato smiley".

yeah you put it in 3rd gear at that speed, the first time i started a race at 70mph on the freeway i put it in 4th gear thinking that was good enough to drop it to the rpm range wrong idea i got smoked. Defenitly will never let that happen again.

To reinterate, it's alot better after some more exhaust modifications(more power transferred top end).

No problem...I very satisfied with the shop that did the work. It looks so stock, but my tips are pushed out to mesh with the aspecs kit. I love the sounds as well!

hmm, you MT guys, when you downshift, do you go thruogh the gears? or do you directly shift to the gear you want? like from 5th directly to 3rd, or do you go through 4th then to 3rd?

Personally I run down through the gears...it helps me not to shift into the wrong gear. I do it so quickly that it doesn't make a difference any how.

Wanna learn how to rev match? Try down shifting in a non-synchro, double clutch manual truck...I'm currently learning how to do that...not easy.

On a 5AT
from 1-30 drop it to first 30-55 2nd, 60-85 3rd.
Dropping it to third gear at 60 mph will feel really slow thou
