test pipe is just a 3rd cat delete... if you'd like to buy one I'd suggest getting in touch with richie v6...

how do you like your windshield tint? Is it hard to see at night, especially with the headlight tint? Also, I believe ATLP is gonna make a test pipe as well soon...

The tint on the headlights doesnt really effect the output, I couldnt really tell a difference before and after.

The tint on the windshield is not dark at night, i can see just fine.

Back to the topic at hand

I think I am gonna wait for the ATLP test pipe and then buy that and the quad exhaust at the same time. Just listening to the clips my god it sounds sick.

Only real question about the test pipe I was wondering about is... I was looking at the megan test pipe and the inlet is 2.25 but the j-pipe has 2.5 outlet correct?
So is the test pipe that Mike is gonna make have 2.5 in and 2.5 out? I dont understand why its like that on the megan pipe.

mike ended up changing the design from the one listed on his website... he went with a 2.25" diameter... so the megan test pipe will work fine with it... on the other hand... I do agree on waiting for the atlp test pipe since it will be made by the same manufacturer and materials guaranteed to be the same size

umm I just got my j-pipe this morning. And it appears that the only thing that is changed from the website is that the collectors are 2.25. The outlet to the cat is still 2.5. ........???????????????

Just wouldnt make sense for Mike to make his exhaust 2.5 and then have a bottlenecking test pipe 2.25???? Can Mike chime in here.

I am going to get some coffee . I have a lot of cleaning to do in my appartment and seeing as how I dont even have my type-s right now Ill pretty much be at home all day.

hehehehe . yeah I have a 2.5 straight pipe now from jpipe to back pipes. Hmmmm I guess I should just put the deposit down for ATLP quads, the test pipe probably will be done around the same time I recieve the exhaust.

And then besides suspension, rims and tires ill have all the damn performance mods I could possibly have WOW. Well pro-cats or race headers I wont do and I like type-s rims, the only thing is the IM spacer which I just have not seen enough about on this forum to think there is any reason to get it.

unless the installer damaged the lower sensors (almost impossible unless completely incomepetent)... installation of jpipe and or test pipe will not yield a check engine light since you do not alter any electronics via installation

For those in emissions states, can removing the third cat still pass?

My emissions light is now on since yesterday. It use to blink for about 20 seconds and then turn off after WOT but yesterday it blinked for the 20 or so seconds and then stayed on.

Not yet. I'm planning on having Acura diagnose the problem during my next oil change. They said it could be a hard code and they don't know it can be cleared without performing any required 'repair(s)'. The minimum standard charge to diagnose the problem ranging from $110 to $120 depending on the dealer.

Rar, for your problem, I suggest you put the stock stuff back on and see if the lighjt goes away, the dealer shouldn't charge you for pluging in to see what the code is, odds are ur stock precats went bad which is covered under warranty

RAR.

I've been having the same type of situation as you where my check engine light blinks for about 20 seconds under WOT. I ran the scan tool it showed me multiple misfires in 2 diff cylinders also that i was running lean from one of the 02 sensors..

I doubt it would be do to bad gas. I've been having misfires ever since i Installed the UR crank pulley (a year ago). I took it to ACURA and they ran a HDS scan tool on it. They replaced 2 coil-packs i have DENSO IRIDIUM's and a new o2 sensor. Yet, Im still misfiring I don't know what the hell's up with my car. It dosen't happen all the time sometimes I can go WOT and nothing will happen then there are certain days it will flash. Sometimes it stays on and after 3-4 days it turns itself off. Should i be concerned?

so the dealer did work on it and still the same issues continue... go back... obviously they didnt solve the problem, first time I hear the crank pulley causing misfires as there are 2 irrelavent things... IE. hydrolocking from not torquing wheel lug nuts heheeh

I'm taking it back to the dealer and will have them check to see what's wrong during my next oil change ~ 1 to 2 months. Also, taking the third cat with me just in case I decide to replace the test pipe.

In my case, it would consistently start blinking once I hit 6000+ RPMs. About the fifth time it blinked for 20 seconds and stayed on (6-21-08).

i have the same problem but it's CEL flashes from stop to WOT - last time i went to the dealer they chalked it up to my battery being low on juice; on top of that, the battery actually died in the middle of the service check up ~ and apparently the CEL codes were not saved.

taking it back tomorrow, will let you guys know if they find out anything (tho i highly doubt it)

Brought the TL into service today. The tech i talked to found out there was a problem with some of the ECU's misreading misfires. He reflashed it and no CEL's yet. W0ot!

So are the problems with engine lights from the J-pipe or the test pipe (3rd cat delete).

I don't see how you could possibly pass emissions if you remove all cats.

The poster with the cel never chimed in what the code was, no way you get a light from the 3rd cat removal, and he himself stated the light flickered prior install.. Thus non 3rd cat related

As for passing emissions with no cats... In some states they just scan the obd

Hey guys.

Just joined the forum today. I dont own a TL. I own a 04 accord v6 coupe . I just wanted to verify before i spent 600 bucks haha. If i bought Richies whole setup (Pre cat deletes along with j-pipe and cat delete) it will fit correctly on my car right?
