I've hit a roadblock... I think
Alright guys, so I have a decent exhaust setup that I've never seen anyone have before and I am not getting the deep tone I desired at high RPMs. My setup is resonated XLR8 exhaust system, and endless RPM v3 jpipe+HFC.
Is there anything I can add to the exhaust to change the tone? Pcd are out of the picture because I don't need the rasp. Any tips much appreciated

PCDs can be dealt with by adding a resonator. I have PCDs with stock exhaust and it did not get any louder than stock. What you probably need to experiment with is your choice of mufflers. Lotttttttssssss of videos on here and youtube you can look up and copy peoples setups

The inconvenient truth
I'm thinking your problem is that you still have all your cats, even if you have a high flow 3rd cat. You'd probably get the sound you want if you changed that. I know you said you don't want PCD. What about high flow precats or deleting your 3rd cat completely? Like already stated, its going to be an experiment to get that sound that YOU want. Theres lots of threads here and videos on youtube to help you though.

I did not add a resonator, and Im going to assume your rasp is coming from your mid muffler delete. Do you have a jpipe? I have one but not installed but I decided to keep my 3rd cat

I have an Endless J-pipe and xlr8 hi-flow cat. Interesting how just slightly different setups can yield different sounds. So you have no resonator at all, but kept the mid-muffler? I'm just deciding whether to replace the Dynomax outright with a bigger resonator, or add a second resonator. Or, maybe just put the mid-muffler back on. I know this has been discussed a lot in other threads, so I'll be reading those. Figure I'd pipe in here (no pun intended!) since you're setup is similar to mine.

I cant really help you with sound, the only mods I have as of now are PCDs, I have the endlessrpm jpipe that keeps the 3rd cat but have not installed it yet.

if I was easy on the car; it wouldnt happen...but what fun is that?
it's also fun modding the car to take the abuse...right? so, when something breaks...one would upgrade to bigger and stronger parts, so that it doesnt keep happening.
when my car is the healthiest; it fuckin awesome. stiff in corners, which can rotate the back end.
however; with this hobby; things are bound to break. that's just what car guys do. abuse, break, fix...then do it all over again.
I plan to extract the sheared off bolt from the waterpump/side mount...then temporarily install a stock side mount...
I also have in my possession the NRG/XLR8 6MT torque damper, that should help mitigate my abuse of slamming the gears.
so the plan is to buy stronger engine mounts, install the torque damper and hope and pray it'll take my abuse.
basically, Im experimenting. my science project.

If I lived closer to you I could build up what's left of that broken engine mount bolt, weld a nut onto it and then wrench it out.
Being up in the northeast with the sh!t they put on roads in the winter and rust I've done about a dozen exhaust touchups for friends and family due to rotted flanges where there was nothing left of the studs and countless rusted out holes. I accept payments in beer
I have that torque damper in my shopping cart right now and I'm interested in your opinion of it when you get it installed. I don't think my engine mounts are shot yet at 74k but doing a quick test of going up to 3k rpms in 3rd gear and letting off the gas for a second or two and then immediate full throttle I can feel a harsh not-so-smooth engine torquing going on.

Well I just installed my jpipe and I do not notice any difference in sound, keep in mind I still have 3rd cat. I have PCD's, jpipe w 3rd cat, and all stock out back. My plan is to do the mid muffler delete with stock resonator and see what it sounds like. Ill make a video after that

My results from this type of chasing a sound has produced a good result for me.
NO RASP..
HFCD, RV6 J pipe long pipe, Comptech Cat back.. Great sound, not too loud, but a good tone that i have never heard the TL ever make before.
Very manageable, no obnoxious rasp, or rattles, not booming loud like the ricers, but a good sport sound.
