Installing catback soon, anything I should watch out for?

I'll be doing the install with a tool set, jack, and jackstands.

Anyone who did the install themselves, anything I should look out for?

If you're doing a Comptech exhaust, be careful on the middle clamp (v-clamp?). CT's directions say to tighten until it wont tighten anymore (or something similar). Mine broke when I did so I ordered a new one, which I tightened until it was very snug.

Ifirahse, make sure you're in a comfortable work space with plenty of space between the ground and the car. I had to drive my car up on 4x8 beams with jackstands underneith it to insure stability.

Installing a catback exhaust can be kind of tricky with all the hangers.

If you hit a snag and get frustrated, just take a 20 minute breather.

Also, to make sure to coat the nuts with WD40 .. put a lead / copper pipe on the end of your ratchet to get the extra leverage. Same can apply for putting it on .. you want the nuts SNUG!

Good luck man, enjoy your new catback .

You should watch out for the babes that will come running from afar once you take that bad boy out of the box....thats about it. Its a fairly easy install so far as that goes.

Also dw40 on those rubber hangers let's you pop them right out, and pop the atlp right in

The 3rd cat bolts will be the toughest, for easier comfort you should unbolt the driver side muffler first although it is not required

Took me about 2.5 hours to jack up the car, do rear camber kit install, then catback install. Everything was pretty straightforward...remove old parts, pop in the new ones.

I was dreading the 3rd cat, but my car only has 5k miles so it was easy.

Also, for some reason the tips aren't uniform, meaning one side kinda sits lower than the other, but that can be easily fixed with some hanger modification next week.

It feels good working on your own car and not paying someone to do it for you.

+1. Congrats!

For some reason, on our cars, the canister on passenger side rear always sits a bit low.

Finger tighten the bolts, and have someone else hold the tips up to the position you want while you tighten the bolts down.

Always start towards the front of the car and move towards the rear. Don't tighten down anything until the entire system is on. Then start positioning the mufflers and have someone else tighten the bolts.
